Step2: Join the ends together until they cool. Step3: Trim off the extra material around the joint until the joint is the same diameter as the belt.

This stuff is FAR superior to o-ring material used as a belt. My tumbler came stock with oring style belts. They did not last do to constant vibration and stretching of the tumble action. This was Installed two years ago, still working. O ring material would break constantly. Also no slipping of the pulley anymore. I can use a heavier grease now.
