I would get a honey comb if I were to do it again. If slides together well and fits in place but since it's only rows small pieces can fall down and point up this can and has snagged the laser and ruined the entire job as well as the material being cut.

This honeycomb laser bed is very easy to set up. It is easy to build to the size you need. Very easy to use and works amazing.

Nice 400 X 400 mm Working Bed for a Laser Engraver. The bed consists of four 4" X 16" aluminum alloy rectangular panels that slide together easily to make a 16" X 16" bed. You can assemble 2, 3 or 4 of the pieces depending on what size bed you need.This item makes for great protection for your table or bench you have your laser set up on.Also included is printed, illustrated assembly instructions and a cleaning brush.I'm very happy with it.

We needed a new laser bed to replace the original one we purchased with our laser. This one works perfectly. Matches our laser bed size and protects the surface underneath the laser area as it should. Clearly a good product at a good price point.

I own several traditional honeycomb beds, and this is now my absolute favorite! Unlike typical one-piece designs, this bed comes in interlocking segments with splines backed by solid aluminum. This setup not only elevates the material but also allows excellent airflow underneath, resulting in much cleaner cuts.The segmented design is a real game-changer for maintenance — after use, I can easily clean the bed with just a bristle brush and some dishwashing liquid. No more tedious scrubbing or buildup issues. Another unexpected bonus is the way the laser glow is visible through the channel ends. It gives me real-time visual feedback on whether the cut is clean, without needing to stop or wait for the job to finish. Of course, always use caution and proper eye protection when relying on this feature.Since switching to this design, I almost never use my older honeycomb beds anymore. I was so impressed that I ordered an additional set to expand the working area and fully cover my machine's bed.One important tip: the honeycomb sections require a very flat, sturdy surface for proper setup. I recommend cutting a piece of 3/4-inch cabinet-grade plywood to size to elevate the bed to the correct working height.Overall, I can't recommend this bed enough for anyone serious about improving their laser cutting quality, ease of maintenance, and workflow. 10-stars!

The original laser bed that came with mine was . . . well honestly just a joke. It was thin and I didn't really understand what value it really added.This is simple to assemble, and I think it would work with smaller laser engravers just fine. It does a nice job of dissipating the heat, and I haven't had any strange smells or warping. A serious upgrade.
