Some great patterns for alternative knitters! Easy to read, easy to use because of spiral binding. Can't wait to get started.

This is my favourite knitting book. I want to make the pillow and the red and black striped sweater. My roomate liked it too and she's not even punk.I'd highly recommend this book.

Just received this book and am now buzzing with ideas. I probably wouldn't knit anything directly following the patterns and most of them I probably wouldn't wear (I was in my late 20's during the punk era) although I am now retired, but still proudly a Goth.

I bought this pattern because I liked the gimmick presented. I see punk as free expression to do as you please, and besides the "freedom" and "accepting your mistakes" quotes I didn't see her pushing the concept of "what is punk"I also adore music based books, and I think it does its duty in the music/rocker aspect. It wasn't flouncy or girly or proper, it was a hoot to see. I love working with super bulky yarn and colorwork, and the variety in yarns to use in each was reasonable to me.Concerning the types of patterns, I went in knowing that they most likely wouldnt have my size (since it is so funky) and that I probably wouldnt do the funky drop stitches and I still loved it. Did I want the striped sweater in bigger sizes? sure, but its fixable.

I bought this because it was super cheap. Now I know why! The only thing I would have made from this book would have been the project on the cover. THAT'S IT! But anarchy symbol is so played out and the project simple. This book tries so hard to be punk but it is not punk! Patterns are simple. You can get some better looking patterns free on Ravelry that are more punk than this. This book reminds me of 70's rock. There are better books out there, like and .

The projects are great for teens or young adults. My daughter has tried several of the knitting projects. She has had no problems understanding the directions. The products look like the illustrations.

I ordered this book hoping for some different patterns and I did get that. There are 3 patterns that I am working on: Woodstock Waistcoat, Banshee Over the Knee Hi's and Mother's DM Warmers. The instructions are clear and I have had no problem following the patterns. Most of the "punk" effect comes from drop stitching and yarn overs. There are some basic wrist and arm warmers, a few sweaters, scarves and bum warmers. There are also patterns for a tie, a pillow and a guitar strap. One downside of the book is that most of the yarn used is wool. Trying to substitute for non-animal fibers can be difficult. This is not a book for beginners. There are no knitting instuctions with the exception of how to do a drop stitch, a yarnover hole and button holes.Overall I would say that this book is a keeper.

Knitters beware... You're about to be addicted! These are some of the best patterns I've come accross for the unconventional knitter. They're versitile and easy to comprehend. Great stuff for angsty teens, city cruzers or punks in the mountains like me. You'll want to knitt them all over and over, but different every time!

I love this book! It has ring bindings at the edges so it's great as it lies flat so its easier to keep your place in a pattern. If you like alternative clothing this is for you. The book teaches how to make holes in garments on purpose for some of the patterns, for a look that really rocks! Patterns include two mini skirts, a holey jumper, DM warmers, fingerless gloves, a kilt etc. Some of the patterns are made on larger neeedles with two yarns knitted together so this makes for fast knitting. If you are a beginner some of the patterns are real easy but if you don't know how to knit atal then buy something like stitch & bitch or knitting for dummies (available from amazon)along with this book to give you the basics. For me this is the kind of knitting book I won't put down as I want to knit everything in several different colours. I hope Share does another book!!

Just recieved this the other day, and I LOVE IT!!!The book not only shows imagination and flair with the fun and funky patterns but it reeks of attitude! I have been familiar with Share Ross from her Vixen days, and I was looking forward to catching a glimpse of her other interests. This book fabulously illustrates yet another branch of the "Knitting Subculture" proving that what was once deemed a mere domestic task is actually a vibrant expression in creativity that can conform to a wide variety of lifestyles. Ross also uses actual rockers for her models which not only lends it believablity and street cred, but helps to adhere its social statement.Definately an instant favorite and highly recomended.
