I use this product every day. Have been for the last 30 years. It does take the chlorine out of the water.

I will not drink faucet water ever again without having my PUR filter. Easy to install it. The water flow is a lil slow once it gets closer to being changed out.

There isn't much to say about the product because it filters out all the undesirable dust and particles, but perhaps some discounts would be useful because the filter drains after 100 gallons in comparison to competitors.

The product itself is functional and amazing. Great taste and clean water .. BUTI bought this late 2018 for just 52$ and it contained 6 filters! Now, I'll have to pay 72$ for only 3!It's because this is a different seller, I think. But hey PUR, you should stand behind your product and maintain reasonably priced filter replacements in the market and not leave your customers stuck with the product they bought from you!Let me know please if you find this review helpful.

This filter is a complete fake. It is not PUR. When you install it, it fits on the faucet but does not filter the water at all. The water shoots out and is not filtered.

The fact is, I like water. You could almost say I'm addicted to it. It's my second favorite drink after beer. And whisky. Ok, that makes it my third favorite drink, but whatever. Water is still good. But the problem is that there are a lot of bad things in the water these days: not as many as if we were all living in some third world hellhole and drinking out of a puddle or a latrine with our bellies all bloated from starvation and flies buzzing around our eyes like in those late-night television commercials with the sappy music. But I digress. The fact is that our water has stuff like lead in it, which can make you stupid, and chemicals like chlorine and fluoride that the government says are good for us but that my cousin Frank says are actually part of a secret government agenda to turn us all into subservient zombies that will run our credit cards up to the max in order to support the evil capitalist machine. I trust Frank. He took a pre-med course in college before he dropped out, so that almost makes him a doctor. So wait, what was I getting at? Oh yeah - this little gem here will take the lead and chlorine and fluoride out of your water so you can stay smart and stick it to the man! What more could you ask for in life?

We've just added the to our kitchen faucet, and purchased this 3-pack of replacement filters at the same time to have on hand for use when the filters eventually need to be replaced. This is the OEM Pur filter replacement and not a third-party or compatible product. When first installing a new filter, Pur instructions say to run water through the filter for 5 minutes before using it. The filter housing itself also has a 'electronic filter life indicator' that flashes green each time water is directed through the filter, and will eventually turn yellow and finally red when the filter should be replaced. According to the users manual, that indicator light is powered by a non-replaceable battery that should last 2-3 years. That's a nuisance down the road, when the indicator light will no longer function and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm a little puzzled by why Pur would do it that way, but it is what it is.I notice that a few other reviewers are actually suggesting that filters be used for a longer period of time than recommended, and that the replacement indication can be reset simply by removing and then replacing the same filter. My view is this - if the whole point of adding this filter is to provide some assurance that the water we're drinking, or cooking with, is as clean and pure as possible, then why take shortcuts and use the filters for longer periods of time and risk that they will begin to lose their effectiveness and even begin to pass contaminants that they would otherwise retain? That's a bit 'penny wise and pound foolish' and just doesn't make sense to me.These cartridges are warranted for 30 days and so far we haven't used the filter for long enough to know how long they will last for us in our household. If I find any other points worth mentioning as we use this over time, I will return to this review and update it accordingly.

JULY 2011: THE WATER THAT COMES OUT OF THIS FILTER TASTES DELICIOUS BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY TO ME I FEEL SAFE DRINKING IT. I AM EXTREMELY SENSITIVE AND COULD SMELL AND TASTE DIFFERENCES IN OUR CITY WATER AND EXPERIENCED GI TRACT PROBLEMS TOO OFTEN EVEN THOUGH WE SUPPOSEDLY HAVE A SAFE NATURAL SPRING WATER SUPPLY. I EAT A VERY RESTRICTED DIET SO FIGURING OUT 'IT'S THE WATER' WASN'T TOO COMPLICATED. I DON'T TRUST COMMERCIAL WATER EITHER OR THE PLASTIC IT'S BOTTLED IN FOR SAFETY AND ENVIORNMENTAL REASONS. I FIRST STARTED USING PUR FILTERS WHILE BACKPACKING APPX 20+ YEARS AGO THEN STARTED USING THE HOME FAUCET MODEL. YOU'LL NEVER FIND ME WITHOUT ONE. THE ONLY CON IS THE FILTER DOESN'T SEEM TO LAST VERY LONG - SO HAVING BACK-UP REFILLS ON HAND IS VERY IMPORTANT.AS FAR AS THE NEW MODEL PUR FAUCET SYSTEM I RECENTLY PURCHASED GOES - THE JURY IS STILL OUT. IT SEEMS FLIMSY AND THE ON/OFF SWITCH TURNS TOO EASILY MEANING YOU CAN BE RUNNING HOT WATER IN YOUR SINK AND ACCIDENTALLY TURN ON THE FILTER WHICH IS A BIG NO NO - YOU NEVER WANT TO RUN HOT WATER THROUGH THE FILTLER. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ON AN ALMOST DAILY BASIS AND I IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF THE FILTER AND GET THE WATER COLD AND THEN RUN IT THROUGH THE FILTER TO COOL IT BACK DOWN. I AM THE ONLY ONE USING THIS FILTER AND REALLY TRY TO PAY ATTENTION TO USING IT CORRECTLY. SINCE I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ACCIDENTALLY SWITCHING IT ON WHILE THE HOT WATER IS RUNNING, I HATE TO THINK OF WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE HAVING CHILDREN AND/OR OTHERS WHO DON'T DON'T PAY ATTENTION USE IT. PUR REALLY NEEDS TO RE-DESIGN THE ON/OFF SWITCH. THEIR FILTERS ARE THE BEST IN MY OPINION BUT THE FAUCET MOUNTS THE FILTERS GO IN NEED A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS - THE OLDER MODELS WERE MUCH STURDIER AND WORKED BETTER.
