I was dubious about this little thing working, but it’s absolutely incredible. I gently slide it onto the bridge, and instead of keeping my neighbours up at 11am - with the terrible squeaking of a beginner who is trying their best at getting more than 50% of the notes right - my neighbours finally get a peaceful 40 winks. In terms of placing it on, all you do is hold it flat, parallel to the floor, and slot it onto the bridge between strings a and d, and g and c. It sits right in the middle. You don’t need a lot of force, so don’t jam it on. Just remove it after practice and it’s really that simple.I wish I knew how it worked; something about changing the vibrations? It doesn’t eliminate all the sound, but significantly reduces the volume. I still have all the opportunity to play forte but without unhappy neighbours. It has freed me up to practising at night, which has allowed me to get practise in after work .I’d say this reduced volume by about 50%, and the little metal piece is solid, heavy, it doesn’t fall off when playing and I can go full fff volume without it budging. It hasn’t damaged the bridge at all. I’m ecstatic with this genius little thing, and so are my neighbours.
