I have never replaced a wick previously so I watched a video on youtube prior to replacing mine. I did everything that I was instructed and prior to putting the upper cover on I attempted to raise the wick up... I couldn't do it, I pulled the cover off again and after checking the wick to make sure it was installed correctly and I still couldn't get it to rise, on the third time I lightly coated the wick with kerosene, like a glove! Went up and lowered easily! Nice wick!! Burns great no smell and great heat.

The wick was to thick. I could not get it to slide up or down once I put it in place. Also the sewing around wick was torn and the pins were not attached very well. All in all I think very cheaply made.

This wick is amazing. The original wick that came with the kerosene heater was full of carbon after only a month. I maybe got a month out of it. Over the Summer, I replaced the original wick with this PW-72 from World Marketing. Before I did that, I went to YOUTUBE and reviewed the wick replacement video:GHPG 95c6 / 95c6B Wick Replacement VideoReviewing this video was critical in making sure I properly replaced the wick with the new PW-72 wick. It's now almost January and I've been using the heater every day for almost 2 months now. I just did a dry burn of the wick and when I opened the unit to clean the wick, I realized that I didn't need to do a dry burn! The wick was still white and fluffy. It was not hard and black like the original wick was after 1 month of use. And the instructions recommend that you dry burn the wick once a week. I couldn't believe my new wick looked and felt like it was still new.I'm ordering more of these PW-72 wicks now -- before they are all gone. This is worth the price and the wick lasts a long time. For those of you wondering where I use my kerosene heater.... I use it in the garage where I do have some minor ventilation. As for the wick being too thick to drop back into the chamber, I do not have that problem. This is a high quality wick and I definitely recommend it.

The wick is way too thick and when you trip the shutoff lever it does not drop to shut the flame off. You have to hold the shutoff lever down and hand crank the wick down. When I took the heater to the dump one of the staff said, you tried putting a new wick in it didn't you. I said yes and he said the new wick is too thick and he sees that a lot with replacement wicks.
