This is a great blanket that I keep in the trunk of my car for sporting events and picnics. I love that it can we be worn with the addition of the hood to keep you warm and cozy. The colors are vibrant and the blanket is nicely sized without taking up too much space when it's stored.

I agree with other reviewers, this is not a blanket that will warm you in the winter. It's more for taking to games as extra weather protection or for sitting on a porch swing for a bit. It has a soft fleece lining and the outside is mostly water repellant, the hood is not lined, it's just a water repellant nylon like material. It makes a good picknick blanket but the best use for this would be as an extra layer at sporting events or kids' ball games when it's cooler out and/or raining lightly. I doubt this will keep you dry in a down pour. But if you're wearing a sweatshirt or light jacket, this will keep you warm enough and protect from wind chill and getting wet directly. I tossed it in the washing machine and air dried it and it seems fine, as far as care goes. It's also handy if you need to put a blanket down in the car for pets or anything you don't want to touch the upholstery, like wet bathing suits etc.Only complaint I have is the means of rolling it up. It's almost impossible to roll it tight enough to easily get the elastic bands around it and they are not the best quality, they feel like they will stretch out and lose they're elasticity quickly. A side release buckle with adjustable straps would have been better. I also worry they will rip out where they are attached to the blanket as the tension is strong.Overall it's okay for the money, feels like it could be cheaper for what it is. It's not a strong 4 stars.

The blanket looks nice - the colors are muted but interesting. It is indeed waterproof, as long as you mean typical rain and snow; the design would make submersion or driving rain an issue because it is only really water resistant on the outer side. Although I saw one review complaining there is no way to keep it on, there is a little toggle and tab, so you can fasten it, but it's easy to miss. However, the hood is unlined; wearing it does little to keep my head warm. It is also lightweight and does require you to be warm first, so it has some heat to hold in. It does a poor job of warming you when you are already cold, so this is more for sitting on the sidelines than camping trips. In addition, it is impossible to roll back up neatly. After it was used and washed, it took two people three tries to roll it up well enough to get the straps around it, and it is still not done well. The straps need more slack, or there needs to be velcro to secure it.

Initial Review December 1 2023 -- I will update this after I've had the opportunity to use the PY SUPER MODE Hooded Outdoor Blanket in a wider variety of activities. At the outset, I'm very pleased and think it strikes a good balance between weight and warmth. I did not stress-test its waterproofing, but I can confirm that with fluffy-but-slightly-wet snow, it seemed easily up to the task of shrugging off the snow.My first test was to walk outside in freezing night weather (31F / -1C, light winds, light snow) with the hood up, holding the blanket around me, while wearing a light sweater, jeans, and running shoes. The blanket easily made a big difference in my comfort level -- after 5 minutes of walking around and standing around, I still felt comfortable enough to be willing to stay outside. Then I uncrossed my arms to open the blanket and immediately felt colder and colder, enough that I wanted to go inside after barely 30 seconds.Just from this initial test, I'm excited about the prospect of trying this out at sporting events (sitting in the cold bleachers or standing on the sidelines of my kids' soccer games will be MUCH improved this spring), camping, picnics, outdoor concerts, and more. It will definitely keep us much warmer at these events. Don't go thinking it's some all-purpose outerwear, though. You're not going to wear it walking to school or the train station for your morning commute. But maybe you'll pull it on before or after you run your Christmas 5k and you're waiting for your friends. So having spoken about the core benefit, here is some of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:GOOD:- It's warm- It feels very fuzzy- It looks great- It's reasonably waterproof- Big enough to wrap around a tall/large person. I'm 6' tall and there's a good 4"-6" beyond each of my hands to wrap them up in.BAD:- You do have to hold it around yourself if you're going to stand up with it.- There are no hand-grips or pockets or anything to help hold it onto you. Could they sew in little triangle pockets for the hands? That would be awesome.- The elastic straps that hold it into a roll are a VERY tight fit. It's a bit of a fight to get this thing back into them.- The carry strap (and elastic straps) are pretty low-cost and will probably break or wear out before the blanket material, which feels like a much higher quality fabric and construction.- The first one I received had a manufacturing defect where part of the hood had been accidentally stitched into the pocket and was unusable. I used Amazon's return procedure and they had a replacement to me the next day so I'm not going to deduct any points for this. Defects happen and this was easily remedied.- The hood is quite large which is nice for coverage but means that you have to be about 6' 4" if you want to just dangle this thing from your head like a cloak and not have the rest of it dragging on the ground. BUT this isn't a big deal because I really wanted to hold it around me all the time anyway.UGLY:- Haven't really found anything yet. I will update my review if I run into anything. As it is, I'm actually going to give this 5 stars because it does a great job at what it's supposed to do, which is being a warm waterproof blanket that you can wrap around you and have a little extra protection with the hood and a little better portability with the carry+bundle strap.(Note that I'm a Vine reviewer and received this free to review. However I expect I will happily use this for years).

I wasn’t sure about this purchase but after taking it hiking it was perfect. Easy to pack away, comfortable, and I used it as a picnic blanket and didn’t have to worry about it getting dirty because it just brushes off.

Perfect blanket to cut the wind chill while at track meets and other outdoor activities. I’m thinking about ordering some for my team!
