I have not been happy with this purchase, It's a hit and a miss to get it working properly. I shouldn't have to keep going into my TV sound system to link the optical. The optical works good one day and then randomly on another day, all I get is loud noise. Very frustrated with this equipment and have gone back to just using the TV sound. Bluetooth works good, however have to connect it to my TV every time I turn the TV on and off. Extremely loud noise if I don't shut the amplifier off before the TV is turned on or turned off. Again with the frustration. Given it a 2 star is being kind.

Purchase the Pyle HD amplifier to connect optical out of the TV to the amplifier to power stereo speakers. And using Nvidia sheild (Or roku, chromecast) for playing videos from Netflix & Amazon prime etc. Connected Nvidia shield to HDMI 1 of tv and using optical output from tv to send sound to speakers. When i use DTS, Dolby sounds, the speakers give a buzz sound because surround sound is not compatible. So i changed the settings in Nvidia shield to output stereo sound only. By making this, the buzz is gone and some apps are working and i can hear from the speakers. However when i use Netflix, Amazon prime, i get a warning of HDCP and nothing plays. Looks like the optical connection does not have capability of HDCP or HDCP handshake etc. I tried a NAD and Bose amplifier and do not have this issue of HDCP. So returning this.Writing a review so others are aware of what's working or not. I cannot comment on quality of sound etc because i did not test it enough.

Purchased this as a compact unit to save space in a smaller entertainment center. From the get-go, it was impossible to dial in the sound. The bass, no matter how I set the knob, somehow both hit with a strange, crispy high-punch (sounds that were supposed to be 'deep' had more of a hi-hat 'whack') and a deep, constant rumble that warped the sound - and added a muffled quality. The treble knob was more of a 'noise' knob, acting like a bad sharpening filter; anything at middle or above added a loud, audible hiss to everything - even silence. All I could do was turn it down to 1/3, which exacerbated the bass problems. The Bluetooth had serious issues; from the ridiculously loud "ping!" telling you that it was, in fact, connected, to an intermittent 'click click' in the music - and, finally, to the problem of putting the music even *more* into an audio can. It also had some kind of caching problem, which was super bizarre, where part of a song looped over itself for a couple seconds. Weird. The source and control buttons are very cheap plastic with weak feedback, and the internal SD card and USB ports were a bit crooked inside the case. Overall, about the worst piece of stereo equipment I've ever purchased - and returned.

I have paired the Pyle amplifier with my Bose 501s for the sound system for my Sony Bravia via the HDMI cable. I also have a dvd player and my Roku device hooked to it. Powerful for the size; I have not run the volume past 8 for most viewings ( 8 is moderate; it gets quite a bit louder if you need it )

Other than the volume knob having notches when turned (which makes it skip at least one up or down and the reason for 4 stars) this device is great for the price. Those that are complaining about the RCA connectors having static are just using poor RCA cables. I did not run into this issue. It has no static if you use decent cables. Bluetooth works great and easy to connect. Also, the remote bottom buttons you have to long press to get them to work which is in the directions but easy to overlook. Overall, a great device and good sound. It is being used on our patio in the summer with some old school Realistic Minumus 7 speakers.

Wasn't expecting this amplfier to sound as great as it does. Powers my custom built speakers perfectly. Really like the 5.0 Bluetooth capability, may just part with my 200 disc cd player after i load my phone up. This replaced an old sansui unit in my pole barn shop, am actually surprised how crystal clear each fm station is. Wish it had station presets, you can punch in the number after a search. Cranked this for a few hours, didn't get hot. It doesn't have a fan, I guess it doesn't need one. The remote is very simple but effective. Very glad I found this for such an amazing price.
