Used for baking pizza. It works great. Clean up is easy with this handle which is the perfect length while using it and the collapsible handle makes cleaning and storage easy

Yes, the handles are detachable.....assuming you bake and cook with your toolbox on hand. Basically the only way to attach and disassemble the handle is to use a screwdriver to screw/unscrew 4 screws. So while the product description is technically correct, practically speaking the feature might as well not exist. I can't imagine someone getting the toolkit out from the garage just to make a pizza. And given that 2 of the 4 screws thread into the wood directly...do this a few times and the threads will be shot. Cleaning it with the handles on would be awkward due to length, so removing them easily would be very much desirable.Otherwise this looks like a fine pizza peel.
