These are some nice, heavy-duty shorts. I'm not sure my son will like them because they do not feel breathable. I like them though as they feel like they'll last a few washings. There's a drawstring on the inside, which I like. I think inside drawstrings are essential for active kids and he's very skinny. He needs to pull them really tight. They're not as long as I would have expected, mostly because the compression shorts are longer than the baggy shorts. I'm o.k. with it, but we'll see how he feels about it.

These shorts are some of the better ones we've found on Amazon. We ordered the 5T and they fit my skinny 5.5-year-old well. There is a drawstring in the event that you need an extra bit of help keeping them up, but I was pleased we didn't have to use it. The lightweight top layer breathes and moves well for playtime. The thin bike-shorts-like inner layer keeps him from showing off his underwear when flipping upside down at ninja or on the playground. An excellent addition to the active boys wardrobe.

Soft, comfortable, well made, and difficult to convince my son to wear anything different. As soon as he tried these on he loved them. Wore them for like...2 or 3 days straight before he spilled something and I had to wash them...then he wore them right after the came out of the dryer. He is 5 and EXTREMELY active and these actually helped prevent a lot of potential chafing/redness during his playtime.

I recently got my husband a pair of basketball shorts with compression shorts attached and my son, who is 11, loved them and asked me to please find him a pair too.These are made incredibly well, both the outer and inner layer are very soft and will provide maximum comfort. These shoes, due to the additional layer, are a bit thicker and heavier than traditional basketball shorts.The waistband is lined with elastic and the drawstring allows for maximum adjustment for smaller waist sizes.We ordered the black on black and it came quickly and was exactly as pictured in the stock photos. The sizing is accurate and these shorts are overall excellent quality. I’ll be buying the other available colors!

We loved these shorts! I got a size 6 based on the size chart and it fit perfectly, width-wise. They are a little long on him but he is on the shorter side. These have a lining and both sides have pockets, which my son loved. The fabric feels soft and breathable. He got to use them for soccer and he didn’t want to take them off afterwards. They washed well afterwards too, so I will be buying a couple more for sure!

QBK Toddler to Youth Boys 2 in 1 Athletic Shorts - Neon Orange - Size 8Soft, washes well and great for casual play or sports. My grandson really like these, they fit him well and the drawstring is an added plus. He says that they are very comfortable. They are lightweight, outer layer is that breathable mesh like most active wear, have inner and outer pockets and the extra lining underneath doesn't leave him feeling exposed while playing soccer.They seem to be made well. We have had no issues with quality after several wears and washes.

This is a cute pair of athletic shorts. The biggest drawback is that my sensory kiddo said the inside of the elastic waistband "hurt them" aka it was scratchy and indeed to my fingers it is. He also complained about the interior black drawstring--it is rough. We got the size 8 and it fits more like a 9 in that the waist is loose. Therefore, we need to cinch up the drawstring. The workaround is to tuck a shirt into the shorts.The doubled effect of black inner legging with blue exterior makes for a thick pair of shorts. There are side pockets. It washed and dried quite well. It's all polyester so this one might be too hot in the heat of summer.

My son is a very thin and small 13 year old. I ordered him the Size 12 and the waist fits well due to the string that can be tied. The compression shorts underneath don't hug his legs like they should, but that is not the fault of the shorts. They are pretty bright and offer a compression layer underneath in a black spandex color. He will still wear them, and love them because he loves anything neon colored. These would be great for a track or cross country student to wear bright colors on the trails/roads or for team sports players for practices. The tie around the waist ensures a tight fit and they have a loose layer that moves with the body.
