Easy to feed, dry or moist. High quality, consistent content, very palatable for canaries. It is a high protein food, so if fed all year, amounts should be held to "treat" sized portions. It is best used before and during the summer moult, when feathers are being replaced. Some reviewers claim that it does not affect the color of non- red factor canaries. It intensifies the color of any colored canary, simply by making available many naturally occurring color intensifiers like beta carotenes. The inclusion of canthazanthin (derived from fungus) is why it makes red factor canaries so intensely red. Probably effective for red intensification in birds that fade in captivity, like European Goldfinches.
