I should have read the description but I only read the title of the product, which said "cotton". It is not cotton. It is polyester. If there is any cotton in it, it is very little. I did the burn test and it mostly melted and barely took on the flame. It is VERY lightweight. Not what I wanted.

I do not recommend this product. The batting is thin . The width is not consistent because it is sometimes 2 1/4 inches or just 2 inches.

You’re always looking for the perfect material to make rugs. my husband came to me and showing me these 2 1/4 inch rolls of batting that would be perfect for finishing off the rug I started. I’ve i’ve been unable to find them locally so I had him purchased me two packages worth. I was not surprised when I received the material. It was high-quality. It was right on the money as far as the size. I just wish that I had the ability at the time to order many more of them.
