Please do not use universal down rods with the Quorum fans. They will not work as well. Because of the noise, I had to uninstall my universal one and replace it with this one. It works great now and looks much better. They really should sell these with the fan. Or at least ask you how high your ceiling is and tell you which one to buy. For this one, you will need a 12' ceiling.

Very disappointedOpen the box and there was not a single sheet of paper or instructions.I have a 14' ht patio, installed a 3' rod, blades are about 11' from floor.The fan looks very nice butYou can't feel any air movement,The high speed it is super slow

Note of caution. Bought this rod and it was not the right diameter. Other than that, the rod looked fine...nice finish with threaded ends.
