Really need to cut then apart to get it to work, would not fit for the most applications.

Had a cable terminal that was tightened all the way down and around the post. Would periodically slip due to a very small gap, and then not start. Slipping this over the top, haven’t had an issue in three months. Well worth the investment over a different battery or terminal replacement.

These shims are very soft metal and easy to work onto the battery post.They do a great job in buying me some time before I have to replace the stretched and worn out terminals on the car.Very inexpensive product, but also allows the battery terminals to be kept tight for great conducting of the electricity 😀

We ordered these shims to help with a battery replacement on an older car. The new battery had a smaller negative terminal, and the clamp to the battery cable would not close tight enough for a good connection. The poor rating is because 2 of the 4 shims arrived in an absolutely crushed condition. The other 2 were fine, and we wanted the problem fixed, so we kept this purchase. However, it's not a good product if half of the items arrive in a destroyed condition. I don't even think the delivery people could have done that much damage!

The batteries I have purchased recently from Walmart appear to have smaller post. These allowed me to enlarge the posts so they will correctly fit the car battery cables (without attempting to cramp down the cable past it's normal point.
