I used this to hardwire my radar detector into the mirror which powers it instead of using the car port usb plug that it came with. Works great! All wires are hidden and it's a quick and easy installation that benefits looks and accessibility. Great value for the small fix.

This product worked great for me. After reading some reviews about the tips being weak or cheap .... that wasn't the case here. There are other products out there that were more than half of what this cost so I was at first skeptical but decided to take the chance. From looking at the product it looked professionally made. I was actually sticking the pins in the back of my rear view mirror with lots of pressure and not at anytime did the pins break or fall out. Buy this if you need a wire power cord!!! Product just works! Took no longer than finding the right power and ground behind the rear view. 5 minute install. Seller even added a quick instruction page. Would buy again! Thanks for a great product.

The cord is not only too short for certain vehicles, but the part that goes into the radar detector does not hold still. Everytime you go over a bump, it knocks out the power. Absolutely useless.

This kit worked perfectly for connecting my Valentine to my 2016 Ford F-150 rear view mirror's power. Just BE CAREFUL when you are inserting the pins into you mirror's connectors. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the pin just took it slow into the connector. After 2 minutes, it was all hooked up. It was a very tight fit for the pin to slide in though, so as other reviewers have stated, you may want to sand the pins a little to make them thinner, but remember tha pins are very fragile due to how small they already are and sanding them will only make them more fragile.

I wanted so bad for this to work.Unfortunately the pins were too short, and too fragile to pull it off. In theory, this is a great and simple solution. In practice, this is probably the shoddiest cable you can find. The whole thing cost them $0.35 in parts. If it works for you, awesome. It did not for me. Also beware, no returns.2016 BMW 535i

I used this to tap into power on my 2016 Ford Fusion for my Valentine Radar Detector. The factory cords, and this unit, use the same male plug landline telephones use. The problem is they're a bit fragile and with the suction cup or visor mounts the end up ultimately breaking from connecting and disconnecting all the time. With this cord and the Performance Package Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracket sold here for the Valentine, I rarely remove it and it never falls down. And if you did have to replace it, it's much easier to do so than having to re-run a new cable up the dashboard, etc.

Ordered this for a BMW and a Fiat. Worked as advertised, there really isn't a need for instructions. It's pretty self explanatory, plug the black pin into the back of the harness for ground, plug the red wire to the back of the same harness for a 12V power. You will likely either need the wiring harness's schematics, or a volt meter. On a BMW it's pretty easy to figure out, typically a brown wire on a BMW is ground, and green wires are 12V power on key position 1, and lavender wires (or light purple, whichever you prefer) are power on key position 2, and blue wires are power when engine is on. In the mirror harness there's a brown/black wire, black/brown wire, lavender with blue, green with blue, and volt meter confirmed the lavender wire supplied power when "key" is in position 2.The pins inserts from the back of the harness with a bit of force, which I expected. The pins sit in the harness plug fully and no metallic part should be exposed. On the Fiat it was a little trickier, the pins didn't fit as easily and required significant amount of force to insert, but it went in and seated fully on the back of the harness. The ONLY reason I gave it only 4 stars, is because one of the harness has a rather "loose" RJ-45 jack on one end, meaning I'd have to wiggle the plug a little for the V1 to come alive. But works fine when I just leave it plugged in.

Works well for 2015 BMW 3 Series/M3 (F80). Pins are fairly long and went in easily (not much resistance). Use included zip tie to prevent pins from falling out. (it's been over 6 months and I've had no issues) Must-have for easy stealth install.update 11/29/2015I'm sure the manufacturer will not condone this, but I found this to be a very easy way to add a 5v USB outlet to my mirror area for my I first tried adding a second pin styled connector by squeezing it into the same slot, but it was apparent that there is not enough space.I modified the Mirror Wire by soldering new wires to the connectors and then to a (this particular one fits inside the mirror covering, so the install is very clean). Remember to insulate all exposed wire/connectors.
