Brought these with on a 3 week off grid camping trip through Baja Mexico, wood is sparse in the desert & there were a few night's it got a little chilly & these things put off some heat! Love everything about them & would only burn these & stop with the wood if they weren't so spendy ;)

I just tried one out for the first time. Here's my honest if long-winded take. First off, it's easier to light this if you have a small blowtorch. Once lit, it takes 15-20 minutes to really get going. At peak burn, the flames get 1-1/2 to 2 feet tall and the fire radiates quite a bit of heat within 3 to 4 feet or so of the canister. One caveat, it does get rather smoky-- it is a wax-based fire after all. This can keep multiple people warm, but it does burn quite fast-- more heat produced = more fuel burned. Realistically, you'll get 1-1/2 to maybe 2-1/2 hours out of a can if you burn it in one go. If you plan on using it like that, do yourself a favor and bring like 2 lbs. or so of flaked soy wax to top it off periodically. That way you can enjoy it for maybe 3 hours or so. In my opinion, this fire performs very well as a campfire alternative, flames are big enough to radiate lots of heat but not QUITE big enough to scare you off using it in the first place-- an experience I actually had with another brand of 8-inch portable campfire.

We purchased this because of burn ban at the campsite and it worked greatly. We put it out and the reignited it later and it’s great. Definitely recommend! It will get hot and the wax is hot. Is basically a massive candle.

I bought these two years ago and they were great! Easy to light, easy to put out, very little smoke, very little smoke smell, great fire. I’ve bought them twice last year, stocking up - but something changed. The last tin that I lit was different: the pulp looked different, the fire was wildly big with wax bubbling over the top of the can and SO MUCH BLACK, CHEMICALLY SMELLING SMOKE. I gave it some time to burn off, but it didn’t stop - everyone had to just walk away. I’m packing up what remains and the 3 other cans and returning them. I can still feel it in my throat.

This thing works great. It does take about 10 -15 minutes to get going strong, so the flame burns evenly, but once it gets going it creates a warm and beautiful fire. I would buy these all of the time if they were a bit less expensive.

Went to wrap these for Christmas and every one of the 4 were dented. I would understand if only one was damaged but all of them?!

In comparison long term price ways, it is pricey; however, for occasional use and ambiance, especially in small yads, this is fabulous! No need for cleanup. It is easy to use and store. It lights easily When first lit, it really is more like several candles huddled together, but when it gets going, the flames dance and provide a very satisfying visual.
