I had a leak I thought was coming from the bottom of the degass bottle and was losing coolant. A shop couldn’t find the leak so I started looking I the mornings while the engine was cool and found the leak. The old part had plastic inserts the hoses went over, they cracked and even though it looked fine there was a small crack. Since it’s a pressurized coolant system it’s hard to find a leak in it unless the engine is running or has run recently which means it’s probably hot in the engine bay. Of the three hoses that it connects, only one came off by hand, I had to cut the other two but did it right at the end of the sleeve on the old fitting. There is enough flex in the remaining hoses to connect them to the new fitting without any stress on the hoses. Use some coolant on the outside of the fitting ends to help ease the hoses on, put the hose clamps on the hoses before sliding the hoses on, move the clamps up a few inches so they’re out of the way when you put slide the hoses on. Make sure you have the hose clamp in a position that you can easily tighten the clamps with a 1/4 drive ratchet and extension. All done!
