This downspout was exactly what I needed to install a rain chain at the end of a gutter that is sloping the wrong way on a home I purchased. Eventually I will probably need to re-install gutter with proper slope because diverting the rain into a planter attached to the home is not ideal, but fortunately we don't get a lot of rain where I live.These downspouts are quality steel - very strong! Your gutter will fail before these down spouts do.

I got a rain chain but needed this insert so I could hang it from the gutter downspout.It’s a simple thing with a wire hanger inside. Works great!

I selected this rain chain drain because I did not want a extra large opening or a medium size opening This is not small this is more on the medium size in just a tiny bit smaller than that. The reason being you can concentrate the water down without as much splatter if the water can truly be concentrated down your chain. We have not installed our rain chain system yet because it is winter time and deep freeze time on the upper east coast of the United States. It seems that this unit is a sturdy as any I would purchase at one of those popular stores that sell DYI items.
