This moisture meter has a very solid probe meaning that it can be safely pushed into the soil. The dial responds rapidly and is easy to read.

Love this little device. No batteries and works like a charm to let me know how moist the root ball is. Especially after transplanting, sometimes it is difficult to tell. Yay

I did not know I needed one of these until I started using it. It arrived quickly and as expected. The instructions were simple. It does not need a battery. It is much sturdier than I expected. I like that the head can tilt 90 degrees back so I can see it when standing above it.I tried it in various soil types and at various depths. It always reported the moisture level immediately and as expected. When testing in my flower bed, the top few inches of the soil was bone dry. Pushing it down a few more inches shows as wet. Looks like I need mulch to keep the top from drying out so quickly.

This item is a great improvement over traditional foreign moisture meters. The probe is almost twice the thickness and is made of stainless steel for stiffness and ease of use. The meter head flips from Vertical to horizontal, making it easy to read from above.

This meter is very easy to use - no need for instructions. You simply put it in the soil and you get an instant reading. The color coding of the meter (Red- Dry, Green -Good, Blue- Wet) and the size of display make it easy to know “at a glance” what the soil status is. You can pull out the meter and reinsert it in each of your flower pots to find out quickly if you have a plant that needs attention in just a few minutes. The fact that the meter is well made and requires no batteries means it should last a long time with minimal maintenance.

This has solved a constant problem i have with over watering my potted plants both indoor and outdoor. This device is so easy to use and very easy to read. Just stick it into the soil and in about 30sec you will get an idea if your plants need more water or not. I have killed many potted plants in the past due to overwatering. I think this will give me a better idea of my plants watering needs.This device feels well made and sturdy. Great product for us beginner plant lovers.

If you've got house plants or a small garden and don't quite have a green thumb, this is a good addition to your arsenal. It's a simple moisture meter: you stick it in the dirt and it tells you how moist the soil is. For plants that are sensitive to moisture level or potted plants that depend on accurate and timely watering, this is a big help. I can't find where it takes any batteries, and it couldn't be simpler to operate. While I believe this meter is accurate, that does come with the caveat that it's a little indecisive. When you first put it into the soil, the needle moves, and it keeps moving. It probably takes a good few seconds to get an accurate read, but leave it in for an hour or more and the needle keeps moving and doesn't seem to be accurate after those long periods. So when exactly it's right on, I'm not sure, but in either case I wouldn't plan to leave this in a plant full time. I also find the green color a bit too bright and artificial looking. A darker green or black would have been better and made it less of an eye-sore when not in use, but as a tool to use briefly, the color doesn't really matter.

This moisture tester works great. I tried it in several different spots to verify if my drip irrigation was reaching my newly planted plants. Easy to use and love that it doesn’t require batteries!
