I had a pair of these on my 2009 Nissan Pathfinder for 4-5 years. In that time, I never took it off-road. It was basically just a daily driver. Like other reviewers, one of my shocks failed after never being abused.I had a bad feeling as soon as I purchased these. The welds were horrible and they just looked like poor quality. The dust cover never fit correctly and always had a lopsided look. The shocks started rusting almost immediately (and I live in a relatively dry climate).Stay away. Just stick with your stock shock setup unless you really know what you are doing.

I had these installed on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road Edition and my situation is exactly the same as the review by C. Sampson, the first review on Amazon. I had the right rear shock tube come out and go back in through the side of the shock body. His photos are similar to my experience with Rancho's poor quality and craftsmanship (or there lack of). I don't believe there is enough travel in this shock for the intended application. This vehicle is driven primarily by my wife to run errands and take my children to and from activities. With that being said, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER RANCHO PRODUCT! This is not in a vehicle that is being driven throught the trails or mountains, it's being driven on well paved roads and going to the grocery store. If it can't handle that, don't expect it to handle your off road adventures.

Ran the shocks for almost a year on an 05 Pathfinder. Saw a mix of use from highway and rural roads as a daily driver. The dial on the shocks would keep setting itself to lower numbers on the rural roads and would go from a decent ride to too soft on one corner or the other.Recently the strut on the rear driver side tire snapped while going over a speed bump at average speed. This wasnt a hard bump, it was a traffic calming device designed to be taken at 20+ mph. I went over it just under 25 mph and the resevoir failed where the piston enters. The lip around the piston failed and the piston entered the resevoir at an approx. 60 degree angle a seized at full extension. The resevoir was supported by the lower control arm after is failed, which kept the entire assembly together long enough to get home.

paired with the quick lift front strut/coil and rear spacer from rancho and so far so good. My only gripe so far would be that at level 9 which is the stiffest they are still pretty soft and anything below 7 seems very soft to me on my 2005 pathfinder. I hear these dont last more than 6 months but I got a $120 rebate from rancho for buying them with the rest so I went for it and after 2 months they are still working well. If you dont get a rebate I would go with bilstein instead for the same price.

I had the RS 9000 on MY 97 Ford F350 and loved them that's why I decided to but them for my 05 Pathfinder. After one year of street use only they are shot and need to be replaced.

Fits straight on without much documentation available. Though still have questions about the various adjustments & settings on the shock. Still lovely fit!RejoinderCant believe the shocks are shot after less than 6 months!!! I am certainly downgrading my previous comments!!! Utter Rubbish!

I installed these shocks and drove for 6 months when one shock broke. Rancho didn't even bother answering my emails about the problem. Don't buy Rancho shocks.
