Yeah.. dont buy this thing. i bought this one for testing and glad i had a good spare. 6 hours on the lake fishing around. maybe 1.5 hours of running time it failed. Just do yourself a favor and buy a proper one and be done with it.

Put this on my 02 Bayliner with a 3.0 GM motor in it. My other one had a bad connection and was making the boat run ruff and didn't want to get to max RPM, so I just bought a new one. I've probably run 150-200 gallons of gas through the boat with this control module and have not had any problems.

Once installed on my 1994 Volvo Penta 3.0L marine distributor, the Volvo Penta (GM) shunt tool would not bypass this module and put the engine in base timing mode. I am returning it for a replacement. Hopefully the next one will function properly. Amazon has been slow to process this exchange and three days in, I’m still waiting for the replacement to be shipped. I’ve already shipped the defective one back.

I have a 7.4 mpi did not work the time curve is not the same, at wot my boat would get 4200 rpm with this module and 2800-3000 rpms out of the hole. There’s a difference why this one is $39 and the other one is $100 thank amazon for free returns.

Easy replacement. Our boat stalled on the water and google suggested this part. I switched this out in less than 10 minutes and she started right up.

I wasn't sure that this was going to fix my ignition problem but it did. My Indmar Enhanced Base 5.7 marine engine wouldn't advance timing with RPM's at all. After a lot of troubleshooting, I decided to replace this ignition module and now the engine runs great! This provides about 21 degrees of advance WITHOUT an ECM, so with the timing set to 10° before TDC, I now have about 31° total advance at speed.
