This is an interesting arrangement. The camera comes on a little printed circuit board, but it is not attached to it. If you want to keep this arrangement, you have to take the camera off the circuit board, remove the backing from the double-stick tape, push the plug on the camera into the socket on the printed circuit board, and stick the camera back down on the board. It's not difficult to do, but there are no instructions, so you have to figure it out for yourself. Also, there are no instructions for assembling the little plastic stand. It is not hard to do once you figure it out, but it does take some experimentation to get it right. I epoxied a little magnet on the bottom the stand, and now the whole thing sits very nicely on the top of my steel Raspberry-Pi case. The quality of the picture from the camera is not great, but it is also not bad. It works perfectly well for Zoom calls and the like. One nice thing about this is that the camera is a genuine Raspberry-Pi camera, so the operating system will find it automatically. You don't need to patch code or get another driver.

This Arducam model ships with different flex cables to accommodate Raspberry Zero, 4 and 5. It came with a DIY perspex casing to support deployment. The camera len is fixed focus with 5M pixels resolution which is sufficient for AI object detection and security projects. The product is competitively priced and offers good value for money.Installation include connecting with correct cable orientation and steps to configure Raspbian config file. It would be better to include the installation guide right out of the box instead of customers having to search for documentation.

This camera is exactly what I needed. Paired effortlessly with my Raspberry Pi4 running OctoPrint, it was up and running in minutes, delivering a crisp video stream. Even in low light, the camera performs admirably, providing clear monitoring of my prints from my computer. The only downside? The frustrating assembly of the included case and the mess of stickers on its acrylic components. But don't let that overshadow the camera's performance. Overall, I'm thrilled with its functionality, especially considering the price. It comes with all the necessary cables, a decent case (once assembled), and delivers excellent value for money.

This camera is a really good value for the price if you have a raspberry pi. It comes with 3 different lengths of cable to hook up to the Pi. I hooked this up to my raspberry Pi4 in the case pictured and ran Octoprint. The software found the camera immediately and I was able to start capturing videos for my 3D prints. This was my first time doing this, and I was amazed at the video quality. I need better lighting in that area. Very pleased with this purchase. The only thing I have to say, is that there are no instructions to put the base together, they are on the Amazon product page. But other than that, very pleased with this purchase.

This is probably one of the cheaper and better-quality cameras I have found so far for my Raspberry Pi setup. For a camera of its size, the quality of the video (1080p) and images it can capture is pretty nice. The camera housing offers a variety of ways to mount the camera and the acrylic assembly is a nice touch.Be warned. This is a kit that you will need to assemble, and my only complaint is that the package did not come with assembly instructions. This was definitely not a show-stopper since I like puzzles. Using the images on the product page, I was easily able to assemble the camera and housing. I would say the only difficult part of the assembly was removing the protective paper layer on the acrylic itself. The camera works well, produces clear images, and stays relatively cool when in use. Definitely a recommended accessory if you are looking for a camera for your Rasberry Pi.

I recently acquired the RasTech Rasp Pi Camera Module for my Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, and I’ve been fairly pleased with its performance. The 5MP 1080p OV5647 sensor captures clear and crisp images and videos, making it a commendable choice for various projects I’ve embarked on.The inclusion of three ribbon cables and a clear holder in the set is a thoughtful touch, offering some flexibility in setup. The holder is sturdy and holds the camera module securely, which is a big plus.On the downside, I found that the pieces a little hard to keep together while screwing it all together, which was a tad frustrating and time-consuming.However, once up and running, the camera module integrated well with my RPi, and has been functioning reliably. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to add visual capabilities to their Raspberry Pi projects. Docking one star for the initial setup hurdles, but once past that, it’s a fantastic little module that adds significant value to the Raspberry Pi ecosystem.

I bought this specific listing because it seemed like it came with a nice case that would protect it. Unfortunately it was very difficult to assemble, and whenever the cable popped out from the camera (which it did multiple times) I would have to take everything apart to get it back in.To be clear, I normally quite enjoy putting things together, but the way the case is assembled requires you to hold it in like 4 different spots at the same time.
