I have been wanting a tubing cutter for a while because I am terrible at cutting pipes with a hacksaw. This makes it so much easier to. I even got better with the cutter after only two tries.I think the ratchet function makes cutting so much easier, and I like that a few extra blades are included. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this one.Five stars.

I got this for its close quarters feature where there is not enough room behind a pipe to rotate the cutter. To try it out I cut some 5/8 inch copper LP gas line as well as some 3/4 copper water line. These two cuts were ultimately completed successfully. Still, I can’t recommend this tool.Quality: Components in the tool are not precisely fitted so there is considerable “play.” This led to the cutter occasionally drift (cutting a spiral) unless you constantly corrected it. The ratched is supplied by two spring loaded pawls that ratchet on the plastic handle. This suggests that the tool will not last long. After only two cuts, the cutting wheels already showed some wear.Function:When trying to cut a ½ water line in place, you need at least 3/4 inch of space behind it to fit in the ratchet. It provides good close quarters support for 1 inch copper pipes and borderline for 3/4. So the close quarters feature is iffy. I am used to a Rigid 15, where advancing the cutter is easy. For this cutter the advancing knob is usually obscured by the handle and you have to wait for it to ratchet around for it to be accessible. This is compared to other cutters where you can advance at any point in the rotation. It is annoying to use.Value: At $25 this is an expensive cutter for the quality. There are decent tube cutters out there for this price. Keep looking.
