I loved it so much I bought a second! We bought a different heavy duty version of the PVC pipe cutters to cut hard candies for a freeze drying. But they were a pain in the butt because he had to manually pull them open after. This is super sharp, super strong, and it pops back open as soon as it closes shut so I can move through my cuts much faster and more efficiently

The blade is ok to cut but it is impossible to cut square (3/4 for me).Tightening the screw helps a bit.

This cutter worked, however, on 1” sch 40 pipe it slanted the cut. It may work better on smaller pipe, though I have not yet tested it on anything less than 1”. The cut was slanted top to bottom about 1/8”. Probably useable but not a comfortable margin.

As a professional automotive technician I am constantly working with rubber and plastic hoses. I am a perfectionist and can't stand to have crooked or rough cuts on anything. These cutters cut very straight and clean. They are my go to for smaller diameter hoses such as vacuum hose, fuel hose, evap tubing and washer tubing. They are rated for 1.25" capacity. They also cut PEX pipe cleanly as well. The listing title is a little misleading though as these are not "ratchet type" cutters. These are single motion, squeeze the handles and blade cuts, release and blade opens back......no ratchet action here. These are very nice cutters especially for the price and I am rating them 5 stars.

I purchased a new house and needed to put in washer and dryer lines. I decided to go with PEX because it was easier and needed PVC cutter for the lines. This was my first time doing any sort of plumbing work and I was glad this came just in time. It was surprisingly easy to cut PEX pipes and connect them. The PEX felt VERY stiff but this cutter went through them easy. From the blue shaving piece you can see that I originally used a pair of scissors to cut them and they came out curved. These cutters corrected my problem easily. The blades were VERY sharp and straight for perfectly perpendicular cuts. With theses I was able to install my washing machine water lines and I am so happy!

I have a large sprinkler/irrigation system and have done a lot of maintenance and zone mods over the years so I frequently use a tubing cutter. I ordered the Small URASITO cutter which I received.Note that the description says this is a Ratchet Design – which it is NOT. It is as pictured. The Medium size cutter is their ratchet design.I compared this small URASITO cutter with others I have and have used (a competitor ratchet type and another similar cutter – pictured). I test cut several PVC pipes and sizes: ½”, ¾”, 1” ID irrigation pipes, and ½” and ¾” Schedule 40 PVC pipes (thicker walled). This cutter performed better than the others. Granted, it has a newer blade, but it was notably better. One recommendation manufacturers have for their cutters is to rotate the cutter back and forth around the pipe while cutting. This certainly helps, but I found it not as necessary on this URASITO cutter. Probably because of the point contact on the blade angle, it works very well without rotating. This is a very big benefit as often, when cutting a pipe in a trench, there is not room to rotate.I will start investigating if it is possible to replace the blade and where to get new ones when it eventually wears out.Great cutter!
