POSITIVES: There are many ball-like devices on the market that generate random movements. These are all good to train reactions and hand-eye coordination. But what this has in advantage over other products is that it's still a baseball. That makes the gloving and throwing of the ball more natural. Just be careful trying to catch the ball thrown back, it will curve all through the air.NEGATIVES: To really get the 'random squirrel' bounce effect, you need to be indoors on a hard surface. On grass or dirt, the counter-weight gets absorbed and the ball barely moves. Also, even on hard surfaces, the harder you throw the ball, the straighter it goes. It takes some practice to get just the right speed of a throw to get the ball to the player and have it generate enough random movement. And because it is counter-weighted, there is an alignment where your throw results in no random movement at all. Add in the expense, and this becomes a tool I don't use very often in training.

We like the product and it was exactly what we thought it would be. My only issues was with the time it took to get to us. We purchased a more expensive training softball (bigger and heavier) and paid half the price for shipping and it got to us in half the time.

Overall helpful. I use this for a 9U team to simulate bad hops in the infield. The movement is not as dramatic as I thought it would be, but it is still useful.

Great little training tool, my son and I have used it since we had for a few weeks and it keeps him focused on the ball since it will bounce and move as if it hits something in the ground. Helps his reflects and reaction time. Also have to mention that the shipping service was extremely fast, arrived days ahead of schedule. Thanks Amazon

Bought this for my 9 yr old for infield agility training. The prduct works ok but it tends to loose speed as it rolls on dirt. The random movement is good for training, but it tends to slow down quite a bit making it easy to field. Instead I recommend those rubber agility training balls (not exactly a ball, since it has 4 rounded edges).

This is exactly what I was looking for in amazing condition. However, it turned out to be a little more expensive than I could have gotten it at a local store...
