What ever mix of materials it is, They are guaranteed to squeak until you driven a little. They do not leave dust that you can notice.But the worst of this deal was on the rear pads, I had two inside right rear, instead of returning after vehicle breakdown I cut brake wear indicator off so it would fit the left side. The ratings on easy to install depends on the car itself, mine is a Honda CRV 2015.
