We bought this pool heater because it was the only one we saw rated for high altitude. It was replacing another 12 year old Raypak heater that stopped working. The only thing I had to do was unhook the gas line, and unplug the old one, hookup the new one to the gas line, and plug it in. When we turned it on, it all worked except the down button on the touch pad, so we can't turn down the heat, or scroll down thru the menu, just up. It has a battery for memory so unplugging it doesn't reset the heat. Raypak would not help or warranty their product because it wasn't installed by one of their approved pool contractors. Does one faulty button out of three on the touch pad sound like improper installation? There was no damage from shipping, no damage from installing, no damage at all, so to me it seems like a lack of quality control.
