Nice lax head, seems a little shorter than my kids other heads, but we're going to string it up and see how it catches, throws and scoops. I hope this is good, because the price is great!

My son has been playing lacrosse for several years, and we both would like to learn how to string the head. We have been practicing on this for several weeks. The head is nice and comparable to the others that my son has. He has purchased some, what I would say are expensive heads, from USA Lacrosse. I have to admit though, we are not doing a good job at the stringing part, but we can see the possibility for a variety of ways to string the head and place the pocket. I am glad we have this to learn a new skill, connecting us more to Lacrosse. I also purchased the string kit from the same company and think this setup is at a great price point.

I played lacrosse in the 80’s-90’s and then picked it up again about 10 years ago. The technology of heads has come a long way since the Excalibur’s and Hi Walls we used to use. I picked up this head since to use with my kids in the yard and so far I’m really impressed with the build quality and design. Works really nicely and is super durable. Can’t see this thing breaking anytime soon and I think this would be a great option for anyone starting out or even in their first few years. For me it will be great for throwing around the yard with my boys for a long long time.

The RC1 Lacrosse Head from 8TIMBER has a clean, classic design and feels lightweight but sturdy in hand. Great scoop and sidewall structure for control and quick release. Arrives unstrung, which is perfect for players who want a custom pocket setup. Solid option for intermediate to advanced players looking for a reliable head.

I played high school, college, and now coach my kids in youth so I’ve been around lacrosse for a while and seen things over the years. This head, at this price point, is game changing. Every year kids show up to practice with a used stick that is 20 years old or a literal toy, and it’s going to make learning the game infinitely harder (or the stick is just illegal). It’s tough to tell the new parents that they need to go buy something else when they just bought a bunch of gear and they usually don’t want to spend $120-$200 on a good stick (there are some ok ones at cheaper price points). This stick changes that. I’d seen good things about this head and the company so I’ve been wanting to give it a try.I was impressed with the construction upon receiving it. Good face shape, not too tight in the throat, nice offset, and a good angle on the scoop. It’s stiff enough that I could throw it on a defensive stick without concerns of it folding or breaking.Strings up very nicely. Tons of holes down the sidewalls so you can put a pocket pretty much anywhere to fit your playing style. The numbered holes would be a huge benefit for new stringers and at this price point you could pick up a couple and be able to string them differently and compare them to learn how different patterns affect the characteristics of a stick. After getting the pocket in and throwing with it I’m blown away. Scoops great, super happy with the release and ease of catching. Yes, some of this will vary based on stringing and personal skill but the head is a great foundation to start with and anyone could be successful with it.This company also offers $50 complete sticks with this head fully strung. Which after my experience with this head is exactly what I’m going to be directing parents to going forward. Such a great product at a ridiculously good price point. Just do yourself a favor and get it.

Received this for our high school LAX player who plays LSM and Defender, and it's honestly one of the best heads we've added to his rotation. Right out of the box, you can tell the RC1 is built with defensive play in mind—it's stiff, strong, and has the kind of build you want when you're throwing hard checks or scooping under pressure. We strung it up with the ECD Hero 4.0 Complete Kit (Semi-Soft), and it came together really clean. The 20 numbered sidewall holes made the process super straightforward, especially if you're particular about your pocket placement. Great channel and hold, with enough versatility to tweak the pattern if your player has a preference. Stringing this head felt intuitive, and the larger sidewall holes make experimentation easy. This head is definitely geared more toward LSMs and close defenders. I wouldn’t recommend it for faceoffs—it’s a little too stiff for that—but for defense, it’s perfect. My son has used it in practice and games, and it’s holding up beautifully. The stiffness helps with ground balls and poke checks, and the durability so far has been rock solid. The surface seems like it would take dye really well if you’re into customizing. We haven’t dyed this one yet, but the finish looks like it could handle it just fine without warping or losing that clean feel. Also worth noting—this head has been tested at the D1 collegiate level, and you can feel that quality in the design. And the fact that it was designed and developed in the NJ/PA/NY area adds a bit of local pride too. It’s always great to support brands that are involved with the lacrosse community in a real, grassroots way.All in all, the RC1 is a great choice whether you're looking for a primary head or a reliable backup. It performs well, looks clean, and doesn’t come with the high price tag of some other elite-level heads. Highly recommend for any defensive player, especially those just getting serious about stepping up their game.
