Simple, easy to adjust and you can construct the cable for the release clip so the downrigger ball stays in the water boatside. Much easier to get lines back out and no ball hitting the boat hull.

I've tried pretty much every version of release clips over the years and keep coming back to the simple Black Marine version. In my experience, they work better than most and are far easier on the fishing budget. No bells and whistles here -- just a good product that works like it's supposed to.
