I've had the Yokozuna's Reaction cables on my Surly Big Dummy and absolutely love how powerful and responsive the brake cables are. And the shift cables allow the Rohloff internal gear hub on this bike to shift like butter. For those who don't know, the Big Dummy is a cargo bike so any added weight from the brake cables are not critical to this rig. Buy these cables and housings with confidence!

The product is really rigid but it works great. I've been really happy with the cable and it doesn't require goo/lubricant to make it work well.

Brake cable housing does not fit inside 11 speed DA shifters. Works for derailleur lines, though.

The shift cables work fine. The brake cables DO NOT fit shimano shifters as they are too large to go into the shifter at the handle bar and too large to fit into the brake adjustment screw at the brake. Waste of good money.

Somehow the outer sheath isn't waterproof and I started to notice corrosion on the spiral portion, as well as sluggish braking. When I finally replaced these cables after about six years with Shimano PTFE cables I almost went over the bars first time I hit the brakes. The PTFE cables are dramatically smoother and allow me to brake with far greater power for less effort.

BUYER BEWARE! This product turned out not to be "universal" as claimed on the packaging after all! That is "false advertising"! The only way this kit will work on your bike is if your brake cables are "5mm", and very importantly if your shifter cables are "4mm". Unfortunately for me, this meant I could only use the brake cables, which means I paid for a full set of very expensive cables when only half of them could even potentially be used, but they can't! Because, as others have reported, these cables are really "too stiff", and make routing and mounting more difficult than it should be, and may even make them unusable in some applications. No matter what I do, I'm getting a rough grinding feel from the brake cables when I squeeze the brake lever. What a total ripoff !!! I just threw $60.00 in the trash because that's what these are, trash! DO NOT BUY !!!I've now had to purchase a proper another new set of brake and shifter cables. This time I went with the excellent set that was on there before, which are the "Jagwire - Elite and Pro Series". I will stick with them from now on!

Very well made. But it's heavy. I'm trying to make a light road bike and I can't use this set. I'll keep it and I'll use it on another build where weight is not too much of an issue. Since it's not installed, I don't know if it performs just as good as a high-end Shimano cable.
