It will open a locked lid washing machine. It will also open a safe that has a key pad.

I bought a magnet for fishing a while ago and it was really strong but very big and awkward so I was very excited when I saw this one. This magnet is really small but also really strong. I was able to lift a 20 pound weight no problem and can use this for all sorts of different things. These type of magnets are good for collecting nails and other pieces of metal. I’m planning on bringing this with me when I go paddle-boarding in case I find fishing hooks or something metal that I want to grab…. Maybe even my phone if it ever falls. I’ve tested it on different metal surfaces and the magnetic force varies based with the type of metal, surface area, and if the metal is painted or not. It works ok on my door but slides down easily, it worked well with the weight and also worked on a metal staircase railing. The only thing I noticed is the screw can get loose easily so it’s probably a good idea to superglue it in place. I highly recommend it for fishing or boating or even if you just like magnets.

I ordered ths item kind of as an impulse, it's a fishing magnet and the practice of magnet fishing is the modern day equivilent of metal detection. Instead of using a device that detects metal in the ground and then you dig it up, with magnet fishing you look for mryal hidden in bodies of water by casting theee magnet out nto the water and letting it attract whatever metal it might find as you drag it across the bottom. It's one of those hobbies to pass time in your old age that doesn't require much skill and you can spend hours in you retirement poootentially finding valuable items lost in the water. I've not actually used it yet but I have tested it and the magnet is very powerful much stronger then the magnents most people are familiar with. It comes with a long rope attached to the magnet which you use to pull the magnet back in after you cast it out in to the depths of whatever body of water you're searching. This particular magnet is pretty much entry level for this hobby there are even more powerful magnets one can get if they really want to get into it. The stronger the magnet, the heavier the weight you can pull in without the magnet detaching. Good places to pursue this hobby are bridges, piers, boating docks etc. This item can also be a handy tool to have for retrieving metal items accidentally dropped into sewers, deep pipes and wells.
