About this item

  • Composition - Neodymium magnets are composed of neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), and boron (B). The combination of these elements results in a crystalline structure that contributes to the high magnetic properties. However, this crystalline structure also makes the magnets less hard than other carbon steels.
  • Feature - Various sizes can satisfy your various choices. We provide the perfect size for a variety of applications. These magnets have a triple layer coated with Nickel+Copper+Nickel to provide shiny and durable protection.
  • Applications - These magnets are used for educational, research, professional, commercial, or industrial purposes that are sold or distributed to school educators, researchers, professionals, or commercial or industrial users.
  • Tips- Magnets can attract to each other with great force, so avoid dropping them or subjecting them to impacts.
  • Service - Search for Realth on Amazon for more sizes, shapes, functions, and other unique magnets. Our products are designed based on actual demands and needs and are made under ISO 9001 Quality Systems. Please contact Amazon customer service for the after-sale service.

Neodymium Magnets

What is special about neodymium magnets?

Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets commercially available, anywhere in the world.

Why are neodymium magnets so fragile?

The Neodymium magnets that you use are not actually made from solid chunks of metal but are rather made by compressing a large amount of powder into blocks through a process called sintering. This is the reason they are so brittle.

Why Magnets Break Easily?

It’s easy to assume that these magnets should be as strong as steel, especially with their shiny, metallic, nickel plated surface. Unfortunately, that assumption couldn’t be further from the truth.

Many common metals are fairly ductile. If a material is ductile, that means you can bend or reshape it before it breaks. Steel or aluminum are ductile metals.

This isn’t true for non-ductile materials like glass or ceramic. You can’t bend a ceramic coffee mug! If you try bending a neodymium magnet, it breaks. Neodymium magnets are more like a ceramic than a piece of steel.

probably lighter pull than I really wanted - maybe the seller could add something about how many 2" lag bolts they can lift, or something like that, the way luggage is sometimes rated by how many tshirts a bag will hold. Minus 1 star for that omission on the ad page.Other than that, they are probably exactly the size indicate, shiny, and magnetic - I had to be careful when laying them down on my desk or they would jump over to their mates!

I got these magnets to hold things on my refrigerator (notes, cards, other such things) and I was impressed by how strong these magnets are. I've purchased them a couple of times and I've been happy with them.

These are a bit thinner than expected. Strong though and will work great as fridge magnets. Good size .

I bought these as a temp fix for my truck's gas door as the spring broke and I just needed something to keep it closed. A couple of these did just the trick. Now it opens and closes almost the same! Also used them to keep my washing machine lid from opening randomly while it swaps cycles. These keep the lid closed and stable each time.A tip for separating them: slip them away from each other, don't try to pull them. Slip them like you would a couple of quarters from a coin roll.

You need to be careful not to let the magnets slam into each other as they can break or chip, also need to be careful not to get your fingers pinched between them.I use mine to hold tools to a piece of angle iron. You can sick them on the fridge but they are pretty hard to remove. I used them to HD mirrors closet sliding doors closed so the cats can't get In.

These magnets are very powerful for how small they are and have been very useful to me.

I have a claw foot tub with a wall on 1 side. I use these to keep my shower curtain from bellowing. I purchased some base magnets (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09L12YG7R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) that I've screwed into the wall and these sit on the inside of my curtain and not only hold the curtain in place, but hide the screw in the base magnet. These have been exposed to my shower water twice a day for 5 months with no rust.

I liked the black color for what I intended these for, so I took a shot at them. They will work fine for fridge magnets, but I was hoping for mor strength so that they could hold a tool in place on my boat. They are just not up to that task. They also are a little fragile; I broke one when I inadvertently let them snap together.

Very strong magnets but also quite fragile.Use caution as they can shatter if they're released while within reach of eachother.May also cause injury.

Not that strong and brake very easilyWas sent another set of magnets. These had plastic between magnets that helped with breakage. Not as strong as I expected but better than regular magnets

Surprisingly strong for such a small magnet.

I’ve used neodymium magnets for many projects. This set did not perform like all of the others. The pull is weak and uneven. They came in a bubble bag in a cardboard box in a larger cardboard box. Still, there was some breakage. If they hadn’t already taken longer to get here than the estimate, I might have returned them but I needed something quick. I doubled up some unbroken ones for my project but it’s still suffers from poor adhesion with two of these magnets where I have previously used only one. This pack is a poor value considering breakage and the need to double up even to achieve subpar performance compared to others I’ve used.
