My daughter is 11 months old and the hardness part of the seat is very detachable. It comes off multiple times while riding. And the straps are easily loosened by movement. I had to reinforce the straps by sewing them down myself to make them tighter. The seat would be fine for an older kid but not smaller babies/toddlers.
