Picked up this set of rechargeable pool lights recently, and I’ve gotta say—they’re super bright and really take the nighttime swim vibes up a notch. The color options and lighting modes are fun to mess around with, especially the breathing mode that gives off a cool ambient feel. Being rechargeable is a *huge* plus—no more buying batteries every other week. They stick pretty well using the magnet if you have metal nearby, and the adhesive works for smooth surfaces. I’ve also tried just letting them sink and that’s been fine too. The remote works well as long as you’re not too far away, though it gets a little glitchy if you’re behind a glass window or at a weird angle.Only downside? The charging time is a bit long, and the tether hole feels a little flimsy if you’re trying to secure it in a spot with strong water movement. Still, once they’re in place and glowing, they look awesome.

To begin with, I love these lights. At night, two of them (placed at opposite ends of my 33 foot long pool) actually light up the whole pool, not just the areas immediately surrounding the lights. The remote control allows the lights to be controlled from my deck, about 15 feet away from the pool, so that I can turn them on and off without actually going down by the water They have timer settings, allowing one to have them turn themselves off either 4, 6 or 8 hours. They have little eyelets built in so that one can hang them down the side of the pool if one doesn’t want to affix them more permanently. And they are rechargeable by taking them out of the pool and plugging them in. The effect is beautiful and the convenience is great! So why only a four star rating, then? Well, there are several little issues that could bother some people, though they don’t much bother me. First, for remote control doesn’t work from as great a distance if the lights are hung or installed very deeply in the pool. I ended up having to raise mine to just around three inches below the surface. Second, it is easy for the remote to get the two lights out of sync, so that one turns off as the other turns on. Several times I’ve had to go down close to the pool in order to turn one of the lights off so I could get them back in sync. The solution may be to hang the two lights closer together on one the side of the pool so that I don’t inadvertently turn on one light without turning on both. Third, I don’t care much for the color changing mode—even at the slow setting it strikes me as too fast, and I would prefer something more gradual. I’ve ended up just using the blue setting, which looks great with a blue pool liner. Fourth, when hung from the pool side, the lights can get turned towards the wall by waves in the pool. It would be nice if they had a suction cup on the back that could be used in conjunction with a hanging string. One could glue the lights in place, or maybe adhere them magnetically if one’s pool has metal surfaces anywhere. But sometimes after people have been swimming, I have to go out, reach into the pool, and turn a light around so it faces away from the wall. Firth, the lights use a proprietary recharging cable (which fits into a standard charging block). Two came with the set of lights, but I still suspect I will lose these eventually. I wish they used a standard USB-3 cable. (It is possible that this would have made it more difficult to ensure a waterproof seal, however.) And finally, I wish there were timer settings for just one or two hours. I don’t typically need the pool to be lit up for very long, and it would be nice to be able to conserve the batteries. That said, I have no idea how long these batteries will last. I typically turn the lights on for about an hour when we have company or I just want to enjoy the backyard view. (See the accompanying photo, which also depicts some other colored lights around a palm tree on the far side of the pool.). So far I haven’t had to recharge them. But if one left them on for eight hours, I’m guessing that frequent recharging would be necessary. As I said, these are just minor issues to me, and so I recommend these lights highly. By buyers should be aware of the quirks, I think, so they won’t be disappointed.

This pool light is working great and is super bright. I bought one to try out in my 20,000 gallon pool. Now that I've tested it I'll be grabbing a second one to light up both ends. Pool company wanted $1,200 to replace LED light in our pool. This light does just as good.

This rechargeable pool light is a really fun thing to have in the pool. You have the ability to make the lights blink or stay on and the colors are really bright and vibrant. It's really easy to mount onto the side of the pool and it comes with a remote to easily change the settings and colors
