Product Description

RECOIL

Recoil engineered the RED1800.1 Class D mono-block subwoofer amplifier to be dominant in both power and reliability. The RED1800.1D is 1-Ohm stable and utilizes a wide array premium components that make it extremely powerful and reliable - such as its high speed MOSFET power supply and advanced PCB board layout. Conservatively rated at 1800 watts RMS power at a 1-ohm load.

Especially, this mono amp is strappable (bridgeable). Strapping will give you twice the power and double the impedance load compared to having one single amplifier. If you have a 1,800w amplifier at 1 ohm, and you strap it with an identical amplifier at 1ohm, you’ll have 3,600w at 2ohm. Each amp will still be responsible for handling it’s own 1,800w at 1ohm, but together they’re sending out twice as much energy.

Furthermore, the oversized 1/0 gauge power and ground terminals found on the amplifier allow for maximum current flow. You'll have full reign over your amplifier with the built-in user control panel, featuring a bass EQ, and variable adjustment tunings for gain level, low-pass filter, and subsonic filter.

In addition to all of the above features, this model also features 4-way protection circuitry, including electrical shortage, overheating, low voltage, and more.

I love this amplifier. For such a low price, it gives you about as much power as any stock alternator could handle and will drive pretty much any speakers a sane person (or mildly insane) would ever care to put into their car. As a budget amplifier, it provides many good features, such as dual terminals to make wiring much easier for certain configurations and even comes with ferrules to help keep your wiring clean. I wish the subsonic filter went to 0 instead of stopping at 10hz, but 10hz is honestly lower that most car audio speakers will even reproduce. I don't have a dyno so I can't test the output, but other amps in this line are true to their rated power. It is overkill on my 10" subs, so I'm keeping the gain way down until I decide on a pair of 15"s or even an 18". I'm sure you won't win any car audio shows, but you can still be a nuisance to your neighborhood and impress the heck out of your friends.

This is a great mono amp for the price. It is huge and feels really solidly built. I have it running 2 4 ohm dual voicecoil 15" subs in parallel for a 1 ohm load. I cant imagine strapping this to another amp for double the power, as my Rockford subs hit their limit at about 70% volume.
