I bought this because my thumb hurts from opening pistachios. It either has no effect or it cracks it into pieces of nut and shell. I gave it a 3-rating because I am sure it is probably great for other nuts, like walnuts, etc...

I've tried this on several pistachios and it does nothing. They just slide out. Not cracked at all, somewhat cracked, etc. Doesn't help at all.

Was looking for a small tool to open Pistachio nut shells. This item doesn’t work at all!!Waste of money!!

I love peanuts in the shells. But my old, skinny fingers lack the strength to break many of the shells. So frustrating. This shell cracker is perfect for use on peanut shells. Fits perfectly around the shell and with just a little pressure, cracks the shell open.
