The mounting hardware is not included, you need to re-use the mounting hardware found on your stock item. No modification or trimming required for most items at all. Minor adjustments might be necessary if the item is a cover that needs to be glued to the underlying panel. Most armrest covers are slide-on and feature flat elastic on the bottom holding the cover to the armrest without glue. In select cases, due to the shape of the armrest lid, elastic is not feasible and such armrest covers needs to be glued. Please contact us in case of any questions.

I made a mess of the original order, wanted black/red thread on both the shift boot and ebrake cover but had ordered black on black. Easily fixed. Then I messed that up and we finally ended up with black with red piping vs thread on both. Quick shipping from Poland. Order arrived in a paper shipping bag, no wrapping or internal covering. The shift boot had only a single red piping running from the center of the boot from top to bottom, unlike the four cornered one on the description. Not an issue. The ebrake boot was fine, easy to install and both look good. Overall, I’m pleased.

This is a well made product, like the matching ebrake boot made by the same company. I have now installed both this and the ebrake boot through some extensive google searches regarding the installation. No instructions are provided in paper form! You need to go to the manufacturers website and view a fairly grainy black and white picture. Youtube instructions are available, but not advertised for some reason. I wrote instructions on the ebrake boot review, but the process for the shifter is slightly different. The shift knob must first be removed by pulling straight up. BMW states that 90 pounds of force is required to remove the knob. Next, you will need to pull up gently on your existing boot and the plastic retaining ring on the inside should pop out. It has clips on all four corners that should release under pressure. Note the position of the boot on the ring and how the leather is flush with the edge of the plastic. Next you will need use something sharp and thin such as a pen knife blade, and separate the shift boot from the plastic. If it's as dried up and stiff as my boot was, you should have no problem. Next you will want to clean the plastic where the boot was and get it ready for gluing on the new boot. You should use a quality super glue such as Gorilla brand. It comes in a small clear bottle. Once the ring is clean, fit the boot to the plastic as snugly as you can manage, there should be a little overlap of the leather past the plastic, maybe a quarter of an inch. Here comes the tricky part. I used my wife's metal hair clips as they are the perfect size, but a handful of paper clips would also work. Put your superglue in between the outside edge of the plastic ring and the leather and then hold the leather flat against the glue using the clips. Once the glue has dried, trim the leather flush against the plastic. Now there is one final tricky part that will be very frustrating. The stitching on the boot sticks out about 1/8th of an inch more than the original boot. In order to get the retaining ring back into position, I had to bend the ring significantly and stuff the corner stitching into the space using a door panel removal tool set I happen to have in my kit. The set has a thin piece of plastic shaped like a small crowbar that enabled me to get the boot in place. A credit card or similar might also work in a pinch. Good luck, it is worth the effort. The boot looks phenomenal and is a huge improvement over the old sun dried one. last step is to push the leather down over the shifter itself so the rod is sticking out and then put the knob back on with a solid thump to lock it in place. Your done! Oh, and faster shipping would have been a nice option btw.
