Perfect fit and correct connectors for the Fridge. These defrost heater last only about 5-7 years. When they fail the cooling fins ice up and the fridge cooling goes down hill. These are the 4th set I had to put in the fridge. Its a good old fridge that works well and this is a cheap fix. Takes about 30 minutes to remove the racks, guides, icemaker and back inner panel. then about 30 minutes with a hair dryer to thaw out the iced up cooling fins. Then about 30 minutes to install the heater elements and put things back together.

Worked great.Just keep in mind, most of the replacement heaters out there will only last a few years. The prior one I purchased was supposedly OEM and only lasted a few years, so you might as well buy an aftermarket part.

I purchased this Refrigerator in 1977 from Montgomery Wards. I have to replace these defrost elements every few years, 5-8 years. I now keep a spare pair if elements on hand. I no longer replace the screws that hold the back cover plate on. Just unplug and let it thaw. remove the cover, replace the elements, put the cover back on and it's good for another 5 years. This refrig is in the garage and temps vary from 110 in the summer to 20 in the winter.

These were a direct replacement for my old (mid 90's) beer fridge. Much cheaper to fix this part than to buy a new fridge. I can't remember the brand of my fridge but I'm certain it will fit a variety of side by side fridges of this vintage.

Maytag defrost heater lasts 4-5 years in Maytag fridge. I always have one on hand. Last one quit Christmas eve. Takes 2 hours to remove ice maker and freezer shelves, defrost unit and replace the heater.

This defrost heater is an exact replacement for the OEM part in the freezer of our side-by-side refrigerator. Because of the limited space and the need to remove shelves, shelf supports, icemaker, auger motor, and other items in the freezer. This repair can be time-consuming. However, the part itself is exactly what you will need. I'm happy and the refrigerator works well now.

Although these coils fit and function well, they only last about a year in service before one of the coils burns out. Over the years I have purchased this part from many different vendors and all yield about the same service life. Make no mistake, these defrost coils are a perishable item on older refrigerator designs. Bottom line: this part, from this vendor, is as good as any I've tried and reasonably priced.

Used one just like it before and that one worked fine but not for a very long time. It lasted a little over a year then the element failed in the tube opening the heater circuit. I thought it was my fault for trying to get the heater tubes to fit. I decided to order another one after reading the reviews of others indicating how theirs worked well. Well, I can tell you that this item is a no go. As soon as the defrost cycle began, the main protection fuse blew and the fridge stopped working. Unfortunately, the fuse is not user replaceable so the fridge is shot. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product. The heating element is not well designed for freezer use. If you look at heating elements of other freezers, they're actually encased in a ceramic exterior. Thus product is more like something you'd see in a small toaster oven. Minus stars on this product.
