I'm 5'2" and at the lowest position I could barely sit with tippy toes on the chair. At the high level it was at the middle of my back. For taller people it might be okay.

I can tell you that you will hate this "thing" in about 3 weeks of use. It hurts your hip due to the extremely hard seating material. There is absolutely no cushion at all! I taped a small pillow to mine which is still too hard.My company bought this for me. I am debating to return it and get a better standing seat.I wish this company would give an option for an improved soft cushion. That is all this item needs to make it great!

Love this chaiI have been using it for over a year now. I use it more for leaning against as I am working at my standing desk. One tip, try spinning the seat around (in the opposite direction as is pictured). It sure fits my back-side a whole lot better that way.

Standing for long periods hurts my back, knees and feet, so I got this. The one-legged alternative didn't seem feasible, and the other options are $400+.The product is solid and well built. I've been using it for a week. It does a reasonable job of letting me take some weight off my legs, and I intend to continue using it. However, there are a couple of negatives:- the feet are hard plastic, which has little traction on a laminate floor. They should spend a bit more and use rubber. I got adhesive rubber disks at the hardware store and they work fine.- the seat is very hard. It makes my butt hurt after 10 minutes. I'm going to jury-rig something with memory foam, I guess, but I'm not happy about it.Also, in the one I got the weld between the legs and the post tube is crooked, so the whole thing is out of true. This doesn't affect its performance but is irritating.

only thing that I would recommend is putting non skid bottoms on legs.
