I was very upset when the cheap plastic handle used to activate the reclining mechanism on our expensive Ethan Allen recliner broke rendering the recliner portion of the chair useless. To be clear this part should not be plastic it should be steel or at the minimum aluminum. When the part broke I thought I would have to deal with Ethan Allen and pay way too much for the part assuming it was even available. I thought well, I might as well check Amazon and much to my pleasant surprise I saw what looked to be the part needed for under $15. A couple of days later the part arrived and within 15 minutes problem solved. I imagine this new (also plastic) handle will not last but for the cost I can deal with that. I was ready to ditch this chair and never buy another recliner (Lazyboy excepted) due to this problem. Amazon is awesome and truly made my life easier and saved me a ton of money in this case!

Purchased a metal replacement but this was too big, before the original one was removed. This one was very quick to fit and works well, although it doesn't line up with original screw holes. However, as it is a very tight fit haven't found this a problem

After 10 years of owning our LaZBoy sofa one of the handles broke for the foot rest. I ordered this product to replace the broken unit. Installation was a breeze. I had the old unit out and the new one installed in under 10min. The unit felt different from the original but it worked fine. That was until today. A couple months of using the sofa and the handle snapped off. Not impressed.

This is the 4th one of these that I have purchased. This works as well as the original. Unfortunately the original broke because of being plastic at a critical spot and so will this one (eventually). I did have to open the hole where the barrel fits a little on this one for some reason but it wasn't hard, and I didn't have this issue with the other 3 that I have used. Looks and works just like the original and was easy to install.

The product was better than what I expected, usually replaced products do not come as sturdy but this one did , being its used every day , it’s as rugged as the original or better, perfect fit, perfect product, the only reason I did not give it a five on installation is because it’s a real tight fit installing the wire that unlocks it, but if you know how to use pliers and screwdriver , no problem

Hi there, yes it was very easy to install, but the first time I pulled on it to open the recliner, it snapped. It was a cheap piece of plastic and I hated it. I want to buy a steel one but I need to know if a 4 3/8" x 2 5/8" would fit like the one that snapped. It was a 3 1/2" x 3". I need an answer right away please, I really miss my recliner couch. Don't ask me to return the one that snapped as I have no address and no papers that came with it for I thought it would be a good product but was I ever wrong.

Quality looks good and the fit was spot on. This plastic flap-style handle is about 3x3.5". My cable was in good shape so I got just the handle. Swapping the cable over to the new handle was a breeze. The whole install took less than 5 minutes. Ordered on Wednesday night, it shipped Thursday and arrived Monday. Worth the extra cost over eBay.

I thought my sofa was going to the repair shop but that was so Expensive! I found a video on Youtube as to how to fix the broken handle and then searched it on Amazon. I was thrilled to find this handle and I think this was the Easiest repair I've ever done. It is plastic...but should it break in another 5 years... I'm good. The Super low price was so worth not having to have repair peeps in my home! I'm super happy with my purchase!

Exactly as described, easy to install. Yes, I would buy it again and yes I would recommend it. However, if you really want to save money, don't let your kids sit in your recliner.Update: 11/17/18. The part just broke. No, the kids have not been in the chair. Pulled to recline and the plastic hindge cracked. I have to order a replacement but I will look at other vendors The part is inexpensive but changed it is a pain considering it is only two months old.

I wish I knew years ago that you could buy this part, it never crossed my mind to look. This part on my LazyBoy broke in under a year. So I always had to leave the couch open.Replacing this was fairly easy. You disconnect the wire, unscrew 2 screws, and the old assembly comes out. This part wasn't exactly the same as the original. On the original the wire was retained on the bottom of the part, for this one it was retained at the top. My old part didn't have the retaining clip, so I wasn't sure exactly how that was supposed to go. I eventually bent it a little with pliers and used it to hold the wire to the plastic by hooking the legs over the plastic. I don't think it's going anywhere.The mechanism works better than the original, it requires much less pressure to open the couch.
