Well, when I first saw this one, with a remote, I was like WHY? But I was intrigued by it. Thought I should try and if I didn't like would return. BUT I was BLOWN AWAY. The remote feature is great. Why? When I leave for the day or 3-4 hours, I shut off the fountain, and when I return, I turn back on. What is the point? Well, now the fountain is able to store more battery power, so the unit stays on MUCH MUCH longer at night and I get to see it GLOW and WORK into the wee hours of the night. LOVE THIS ONE. NOT RETURNING IT

Fountain is beautiful. I did not give it full approval because it does not have a feature that either allows several colors at a time or cycling through the colors.

Love this fountain! We can turn off and on from inside the house. When it is windy we can shut it off so that we don't lose all of the water and have to refill it. Also by shutting of for a while the batteries charge up more so that we can run it longer with the lights on at night. It is worth the extra cost over other fountains.

There is a smaller fountain than this, but this one does way better with the fountain power due to its 6 watt pump (the other one is only 4 watts). It was actually able to sustain a fully lighted water canopy overnight with the 7-stream nozzle. I don't think any of the provided nozzles can support the 20+ stream canopy in the apparently edited item listing images, however, but it does convey the spirit of how the device looks in action (the smaller fount can't say that--it could not produce a canopy that went past the solar array, even though the diameter is smaller).Assembly was simple: just push the bumper-straws onto the four pegs along the bottom edge (you can see two of the straw openings in the main item picture). Then push a nozzle onto the jet opening in the center. I picked the 7-stream hexagonal one.I left it on a ledge in the sun to charge for about 4 hours in the afternoon (it won't run when it's not in water). Since I don't have my birdbath yet, I decided to test it in the pool. For three hours until nightfall, it sprayed a beautiful canopy, not unlike the main item picture (except for the number of jets). The canopy was actually taller than shown, at around 14 inches tall. When it got dark, it automatically turned on its lights, which have lenses that direct the light to the center of the fountain, very effectively lighting each of the individual streams, like a real lighted fountain. Well done and completely silent except for the water splash. The fountain ran with lights through the entire night, to my surprise, then shut the lights down once there was enough ambient light. It ran the full day as well. Note that I am in the South, and there is a lot of sun here. If you're further north, your experience could vary.As if nature noticed, the local trees tried to give it an extra test: a large pine pollen storm began that same day. It colored the pool with the yellow dust, but the pump had no problem dealing with the particulates, though I rinse the motor's filter daily due to the storm. Additional filters are provided, but the pollen comes out easily under the faucet, so I don't need to toss the filter just because it got dirty. The dust did occasionally cover portions of the solar collectors, but it mostly cleared due to the fountain splashes and it surprisingly did not affect operation. A smaller 4 watt fountain did not fare as well, with more stuff left on top due to less water volume apparently. This one also stayed put better than the smaller one, which quickly drifted to the pool's filter opening. It seems durable enough. One day the pump will wear out, but I have no reason to expect it soon. This is a well-designed fountain that does everything it should. It should make an excellent bird bath addition. When we get our birdbath, I'll let you know. In the pool, it's awesome.
