This think is junk!First off charge it well as soon as u unbox it as the solar panel only maintains the battery not charges it.Second… buy more data as soon as u can as the 100mg plan that’s free gets used up almost instantly.Third…I live in an area with several different phone providers and towers and this thing has terrible service. The slightest hill or tree and no service… offline.Forth… don’t put this to many miles from yur house as u will be traveling to reset it often because once it’s offline it’s hopeless until powered off and back on.Fifth… the cam quality is so trash it’s almost pointless… my friend with some actual cellular hunting cameras doesn’t have nearly the problems I do with this Chinese POS.

I love that this camera works with other sim cards, and isn't just locked to its own. It comes with one, with 200MB of data though. I like that it was relatively easy to set up and that the picture quality is quite good.I'm not a big fan of the app's UI, but I'm only dinging one star for that, even though there are several annoyances. Still, the camera is so good, and it is so versatile, I'm still giving it top marks. It's kind of a nuisance to put the app on my phone and on my ipad, and to log into both, but the camera isn't attached to my account. I have to manually share it to each device, even using my same login. I'm not talking about sharing with a friend or family member. This is just for one user. I've other cellular security cameras, and this is the only one that is such a pain to set up for both phone and tablet. Usually when you have an account, and add devices, they are attached to your account, not exclusive to the device you set them up on.That might not be an issue for everyone, as not everyone is using more than one device. But I like using my iPad for the bigger screen, but need it on the phone for truly mobile use. There are other little quirks that bug me, just because they aren't intuitive or are so unlike all the other cameras I've used. For instance, the pan and tilt controls are in a separate menu tab, but then still very small on the screen, yet somehow also very over sensitive. I ended up putting the camera in a spot I won't be relying on the pan and tilt much, which is a shame, because those are major features.I'm also not able to figure out how to set alarm notifications and sensitivity, but I am confident those settings exist.Still, I'm giving this camera four stars. The picture quality is quite good, even at low and mid range quality settings. The fact that I can pop other sim cards in and out is very helpful as pricing on plans fluctuate and I'm always going with whatever is lowest priced for the month. Being locked into a sim pretty much makes these cameras disposable in my view.I would suggest this, as long as the issues I've noted don't bother you. If you don't have or haven't used any other camera like this, you might be able to pickup the UI on this one so much easier than I am. If you already have devices from this company, you're probably going to adapt much easier than I have been able to. But even if you agree with me on the quirks, I think you will also agree that the picture quality is much better than most cellular security cameras out there.

To The PointReliable security camera with solar power and 4G LTE, but mobile data costs can add up.My OpinionThe Reolink 5MP 4G LTE Go PT Plus is a great option if you need a security camera where WiFi isn’t available. The solar panel keeps it powered, so no need to worry about running cables or charging batteries. The 360° pan-tilt gives full coverage, and the color night vision is surprisingly clear. It also comes with a SIM card and 32GB SD storage, which is a nice bonus. The AI detection works well, reducing false alerts, but mobile data usage can add up, depending on your settings. Also, pan/tilt control over 4G can be slightly laggy. If you’re in a low-signal area, expect some connectivity issues. My VerdictI’d give this 4.5 out of 5 stars for its off-grid capability, solid video quality, and solar-powered convenience, but keep in mind the ongoing data costs. Perfect for rural properties, RVs, or remote areas.I hope this helps!Cheers,Straight Shooter

Just set this camera up at our family cottage this weekend during a typical January snowfall, and I'm already finding it incredibly useful. As someone who can't drive up north every week to check on things, especially in winter, having this cellular-connected camera helps me rest easier. The setup was straightforward - though I'd recommend bringing a friend to help hold the ladder while mounting since my photography experience reminded me how important stable positioning is. The solar panel is handling the limited winter daylight better than I expected, though I angled it carefully to prevent snow accumulation. I like getting notifications when the local plow service arrives, and being able to check if the driveway needs clearing before my elderly parents visit. The pan-tilt feature lets me scan the property remotely, which is handy when my teenagers head up there with friends. I found the cellular connection can be a bit slower during heavy snowstorms, so I adjusted the motion detection sensitivity to avoid too many alerts. The included SIM card made setup easier, but do check cellular coverage in your area first - I had to try a couple of spots before finding the sweet spot for signal strength. Worth mentioning that the color night vision helps me spot any wildlife visitors, something you'll want to keep an eye on if you're maintaining a remote property.

This is my first solar powered security cam, so I wasn't really sure what to expect; I've heard horror stories of solar cameras really struggling with the winter months and this one surprisingly wasn't actually that bad. It actually worked pretty well. Another reviewer said that you don't need to use the sim card to get a connection if you have a wi-fi network and I can confirm this, though it's much simpler to just use the sim cards even if it's technically more costly. The video is fairly clear, and the camera is as far as I can tell very resilient to the weather, so it does feel like it does a pretty good job as far as home security cameras go. I can easily understand why it's priced the way it is (~$270CAD at time of writing rounded up) and could even see myself paying it with how good the quality is. I'd definitely recommend it if it really feels like something you need.

This camera has a lot of high-end features at a fairly standard price point without ongoing fees.It supports up to 128 GB SD card which I highly recommend as an upgrade. You can also flip out the SIM card to one from your provider. I was able to pick up a data only SIM card for a few dollars more on my existing plan. This camera has pan and tilt, 360° with a Starlight sensor. It does not work with Wi-Fi and it is only an LTE based product. It's use case is for remote areas where standard Wi-Fi signals or hard lines may not be possible. In my case I'm using it near a community garden that I want to monitor my plot. This has been great because the small solar panel keeps the battery topped up during the summer months. The app is fairly responsive especially if you turn down the video quality. You can set various preset camera locations such that the camera will pan and tilt directly to those waypoints with single clicks. The Starlight sensor is fairly decent and the built in flood lights help.Call the standard features you think about like time lapse, motion recording, notifications, IR lighting, etc are all included out of the box. It even has motion type detection and scheduling options which are great feature.I would have liked to see this device be Wi-Fi capable as well but considering it's market I understand the use case and I'm happy with the product.

Reolink is a great camera company. This is the 4th camera I own by them and I am still very happy with their products. I'll try to not be biased. 🙂At first I wasn't sure if I would keep using this camera after using up the free data SIM card because of how expensive their data plans were following that. Then I noticed somebody on here saying that it could use other cell provider's SIM cards and sure enough, my cell phone company was able to do that for me as well! Combined it into my cell phone plan, which has plenty of data to spare! And it worked! So, I am very happy with that.Depending on the settings you choose with this camera, you may need to lower them based on your signal strengths. I have it located in an area that is close to a tower and am able to almost maximize the settings without too much lag or battery drain. I am using it at the end of my road at the moment due to vandalism of our mailboxes recently (our house is too far in the woods to keep an eye on it) and angled in such a way that it does not pick up passing traffic. Though, I can move it to do that if I want it to. I can also check on things like my garbage bin or the pond down there. Gotta' love that pan and tilt feature!Other mentions:- I will say that it usually takes about one to two seconds to start recording when motion is detected... but I haven't found a wireless camera that doesn't do that yet.- The picture quality is pretty decent, but even on max settings, you will have trouble making out a license plate.- The night vision mode works great and picks up a good deal of distance.- The attached flood light is alright. Not really bright enough in my opinion.- I love Reolink's app and that has always been very easy to use.- The "digital zoom" is pretty much the same as just zooming in on a picture with your phone. It doesn't actually zoom and is very pixelated. I figured as much though. That is just the nature of "digital zoom".- The solar panel, where I have it placed seems to do a great job keeping the camera charged. I don't think it will do all that great in the darker parts of winter. I will probably have to turn down the settings then.- The whole thing is very noticeable being as white as it is and I may just paint it black to make it more stealthy and not stick out like a sore thumb in the tree. All in all, this is a pretty good solar powered, cellular, 360 PT camera. I am also thinking about using it for hunting but I will need to optimize the antenna for that, for sure. It does look like it will fit an extension cord. In the end, just worried the panning and tilting may scare off the deer...Thank you for reading my review! 🙏

I am using a bunch of different Reolink cameras at a new residential build project, so I have a decent amount of experience with these cameras. I was thrilled that this cellular camera works just about the same as any of the others I am using, even those running off of wired ethernet and PoE. A couple of details:-I charged this camera using the USB port when I first got it, but it has been running purely off the included solar panel since then. It has NEVER gotten below about 50% battery level that I have seen, even after several days of overcast skies. This works very well and allows it to be located almost anywhere.-The camera comes with a 32G microSD card which is plenty of local storage for most users. These cards are not expensive but it was nice to have this included.-The camera comes with a SIM card that has 200G of data included. You will go through this very quickly if you watch the camera often, and even more if you pan/tilt because this increases the data being sent. Reolink offers several pretty reasonable data plans, or you can use your own. I installed an AT&T SIM card that I had and it worked without a hitch, and has a very good stable signal.-Pan and tilt work well with minimal delays in responding most of the time.-This camera integrates into my Reolink app with all of my other cameras. You can't tell the difference in terms of features and capabilities from any other camera accessed via the app.Overall build quality is very good, with a heavy, metal housing for the camera and solid plastic for the PV panel. I have another Reolink outdoor camera with a solar panel very similar to this and it is holding up great after a year so far.I definitely recommend this camera and may need up ordering another one to use these in remote locations on my property. Very pleased with it.
