The base plate measures 3 inches with four 3/8 inch holes for bolting down, covering up any existing holes in the concrete. The square tube has a 4 inches high repair length and is welded to the base plate. A square alignment bar sticks out 5 inches and is welded in place for added strength.It is not removable. These repair mounts are made for the support rod sticking out of the center to slide inside a 1 1/2” hollow square tube metal posts only. They will not fit inside a ¾” or a 1 ¼” rail post. An existing handrail post will match up exact at the bottom( bigger section welded to the base plate) once the support rod is inserted into the existing post as seen in detailed pictures. Use of these railing repair brackets require the rail to be out of the concrete to be installed properly. This product is custom fabricated in the USA and primed and painted black. It is designed to work with existing hollow 1 1/2 inch square legs/posts/banisters and does not require welding for installation. The package includes one brackets and 4 anchor bolts for a quick and hassle-free install. Please note that this product is for hollow tube railings only.

PROS: Good quality welds, long enough for most repairs, pre-bored base plate holes with concrete anchors included, nice even coating, matches most black railings. CONS: Still may need to do some boring, riveting, or internal gluing depending on your application, it is steel so scratches, dings, bored hole areas will rust again over time...just like stock rails do. Overall good value for a fast rail/fence/base mount area repair.
