Works, but doesn’t dim with dimmer switch….maybe a fault of the switch?

My original bulb is GE. I don't think GE sells this bulb any longer so I purchased this one. The first bulb I received was "off" in the fitting. It wouldn't fit. You could visually see the error in manufacturing. But the company was very helpful and sent me a second light bulb to try. The second light bulb fit correctly.

The original bulb we received and the replacement bulb both stopped working within 10 minutes of use, and the base felt quite hot. These seem to be of quite poor quality, and ridiculously expensive.

Today we received our bulb, the second time. Both didn't work at all. Putting the new one against the original I can see a slight difference in shape and size.
