Overall, the pressure regulator valve appears to be made with good materials.There is however, a design flaw. When the regulator is tightened past 40 pounds (yes, 40 pounds per square inch), the screw that drives the nut that depresses the regulator slips! Hence, you can’t increase beyond 40 pounds.There is however, what appears to be a relatively easy fix. 1) pull the knob off the regulator (if it’s slipping). There is a gnarled end on the end of the screen; this gnarled end sits inside the plastic knob. This is what is slipping.2) I put a TINY bit of red (ie permanent) Loctite into the plastic knob with the knob turned upside - that way the Loctite is only on the area where the gnarled end will fit and will not drip - do not get the Loctite anywhere else, or it will lock the valve up (wipe it up immediately if you do)This bit of red Loctite may hold the knob firmly attached onto the Norrell end of the screw; this will keep the screw attached, and will let you rotated beyond 40 psi.This seems to have worked; I had this happen on two of these knobs… I did not figure it out till the second one.
