Nice size and quality, little difficulty to unmold the prices but not to bad. A tip I have is just to work your way down and around and just fold the mold inside out. Also don’t forget to squeeze the mold when filling with epoxy to work bubbles and make sure there’s no air pockets.

Expected the board mold to be a little deeper. Too thin. I haven't used it yet, but Im excited to.

It would be nice if it came with 2 sets of pieces.... Instead of having to use the same mold twice to make it complete.

The amount of sanding and corrections I've had to do is insane. first reason - the mold is not sturdy and began protruding outwards during cures causing it to have non straight edges and squished corners, the middle pops up in cure causing the board to not sit right when complete and no where to put anything on to keep from happening. second, the fill lines are a pain, and easily spills over despite being inline. I don't trust enough to use again, unfortunately by the time I used it I was unable to return but it is not worth it when you can buy this online in a much sturdier version for just $40.

most of the molds are off round, makes it a useless set of pieces.

I used this for a chess board for my niece. It turned out great. I did follow the advice of carefully squeezing out bubbles as I poured the pieces and I used a pressure pot to get rid of the rest of the bubbles. I didn’t really trust the pieces to stay upright, so I made a jig that I could drop the pieces through. This way they were held by their highest points instead of balancing from their lowest points.

I don't usually leave review, but there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews about this product. I used a silicone release spray and while the pieces were a bit of work to take out of the molds, everything came out perfectly. The molds are in perfect condition. I would recommend to future users to use the a release spray, and when taking the pieces out of the molds, pull backwards (flipping it inside out) and limit how much you pull away sideways. I think this is where the majority of the product damage came from. Also, make sure that your resin is fully cured, not just set, as it can be sticky until then and possibly damage the molds.

The chess piece molds were great but unfortunatetly the chess board mold was covered in scratches that were transparent to me until I poured the first board and took it out of the mold. The lines are visible when you closely inspect it but not noticeable from a distance, at least.

My grandson loves chess, so I decided to make this set for his birthday using his school colors. Nice thick molds and had no issues with demolding, even without using any release product. I found that the best way to eliminate air bubbles in the chess pieces was to fill them slightly more than half way, then squeeze them all around before filling completely, or in my case, filling to the bottom bands and allowing for partial curing before adding the bottom color. Very happy with how it turned out and he was amazed that I actually made it.
