These are pretty flimsy. If you don’t overuse it I’m sure it would be fine but at our restaurant we put 100s of tickets on these a day and we have gone through several of these. The poker always snaps from the base. We finally bought the one that I show in the picture and I can already tell it will hold up for a very long time! The way it is made there is no way it can snap apart like this one. The exact one we bought is unavailable right now but there are other brands that are similar.

I keep this in the front seat of my car, insert every receipt, then as it gets full, I start mass throwing things away. Super handy, looking back I don't know how I did without.Especially useful if you are billing customers and you need to track purchases.

When I received mine it was crooked and the top part has a rubbery end which looked broken and dirty like it has been used and returned and now I have the leftover. Even the tag and legs were dirty and had dents and marks

I wanted one of these to have one place to keep household receipts until they're checked and filed or shredded, and I had not been able to find one in a local store so was happy to see that Amazon carries them. This one is not especially heavy duty, but it was not expensive and it does the job. The tip has a plastic cover over the very sharp spike. Most receipts will go over the covered tip, but if the paper is thick or tough one can (carefully) remove the plastic cover and stab it over the sharp point. In general I recommend leaving the tip covered and keeping it where very young children cannot get hold of it. The spindle is brass-toned, and mine came with red rather than the pictured white plastic tips on the feet and spike.

Arrived quickly, looks as described, and works great! I have ordered two of these and both came with rubber caps on the feet and spike. The first had red caps, the second had white. The spike is sharp enough to do its job but not sharp that it would easily scratch - still be careful though! :)

I bought this for work, so that I may keep guest receipts for reference. I was worried that it would break easily or be of poor quality because of the low price, but this product is perfect! It is very stable and came with a replacement rubber foot (along with the three needed originally). Do keep in mind the point is sharp though! My coworkers and I stabbed ourselves a few times.

I am a type of woman who loses receipt easily. I bought this one thinking I can just punch them through and the receipts are always there to review. It works just great. Update: This little check spindle has been seeing heavy use for a little more than a year now, and it's still going strong. It really, really makes my life easier!I still haven't ordered up an "order up!" bell, though :DOriginal Review:I don't run a restaurant or even work at one, but I do keep track of my household's finances, and that means keeping track of receipts.In the past, we've implemented various receipt-catchment systems, none of which have worked terribly well. When we had a basket near the door, it was too easy to ignore the receipts until they began to overflow, and even when I keep on top of them, some would inevitably find their way out of the basket and end as cat toys under the sofa. Worse, when I updated Quicken and the checkbook every week, I had to somehow corral the stack of receipts without knocking it over and spilling receipts everywhere whenever I reached in to grab one. Other solutions resulted in similar problems.Enter the Restaurant Check Spindle: now, when my better half and I remove the receipts from our wallets, we can simply skewer them on this thing, and they stay put. Little rubber feet keep the thing from skidding across my glass-topped desk.Better still, it allows me to select one receipt from the top of the pack without the others running amok throughout the office, cliff-diving from the desk, and winding up under the futon (when you have cats, anything that they can carry inevitably winds up under a piece of furniture).Needless to say, my Restaurant Check Spindle has greatly streamlined my bookkeeping practices. Maybe it's not the option a professional bookkeeper would choose, but for my purposes it's great. Each receipt stays on the spindle until Friday, then they come off one at a time, are entered into the checkbook and into Quicken, and are stored in the month's receipt envelope until the bank statement arrives and it's time to reconcile the account.
