This is a very charming item. I didn’t have high expectations, and I have been pleasantly surprised by just about every aspect of using this.First off, the sound quality is a solid 4/5. Not “amazing”, but quite good. Second, this thing is LOUD. Easily one of the loudest Bluetooth speakers I’ve ever encountered. The AM/FM radio feels nostalgic and fun, and picked up all my favorite local channels. Unfortunately, the shortwave function didn’t quite work for me, but I was indoors, in a brick house. I’ll try this again in another location.I have not yet tried charging this via the solar panel, but I look forward to doing so. This is powered by what appears to be at least one (maybe more?) 18650 battery, which are pretty readily available. It offers microSD and USB-A ports so you can play actual audio files, not to mention a 1/8” (3.5mm) aux line-in port, so this will play basically anything you’ve got.I assumed that the fireplace-like glow would be a cheesy feature that I’d never use, but it’s actually very calmingly-mesmerizing.Will this survive a tumble down the stairs? Perhaps not. But if it’s gonna live on a shelf, then it’s every bit as good as any other Bluetooth speaker on the market - plus it does a lot more.Honestly, I would encourage anyone looking at this item to consider it over a potentially overpriced portable Bluetooth speaker, if you’re looking for something with a little more personality than a standard-issue black box, or cylinder.

I'm actually surprised by how much we like this little vintage style radio. I got it for my hurricane kit because I liked that it has both a battery (USB charge) AND solar power. Thought i'd get put away in our bin but honestly, it looks PERFECT in our old school home bar. The blue tooth function makes this uch better than just an AM/FM radio. The speaker is surprisingly good. Now we blast spotify from a shelf in the bar and we have a fun conversation piece when we turn on the faux fire.
