I bought six of these glasses for use with my 3D Optoma projector after reading reviews on the different 3D glasses available. I was looking for DLP glasses that were good quality for less than $40, and that were also lightweight. About 5 years ago, I was about to buy a 3D projector but opted not to because the 3D glasses at the time were very heavy and cumbersome. I read that these True Depth glasses were lightweight. I also read in some of the reviews for this product that some people received glasses that were not functional; what made me decide to buy these was seeing that True Depth support responded to those malfunctioning glasses and offered to exchange them for new ones. So I decided to buy them and see.I have no other 3D glasses to compare them to, but I can say that they perform well. I see the images in clear 3D, with no ghosting or reflections. All 3D glasses darken the screen, but these didn't darken the screen too much. And they are lightweight; we have watched 3-hour 3D movies without discomfort. It's also nice that they turn off automatically when the 3d source is turned off and they lose the link. The thing I didn't like about the glasses is that they're very uncomfortable if you're using them on top of regular eyeglasses. The 3D glasses aren't big enough to go around the eyeglasses comfortable. If you have to use eyeglasses with your 3D glasses, I would try some other glasses. If you don't use eyeglasses, these 3D glasses work very well. I would give it 3 1/2 stars.

I'm not a 3D buff or anything but these worked fine for me so far (only tested them with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug at this point). I ordered 8 because, well, we have a big family. Will be interesting to see how they work for everyone at different angles. My setup:- Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray Player (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-S570-Blu-ray-Player-Model/dp/B0036WS4D4)- Optoma HD25-LV Projector (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BQWX1P2)- Elite ER120WH1 120" Screen (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00366S0UW)- BlueRigger High Speed HDMI Cable - 50' (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GW25WY)Note that you do not need another emitter device. I'm not sure when you need one, but these glasses work without any additional hardware.Have to make sure all the 3D options are on for both the player and the projector. At first it said it wasn't recognized, but I checked my settings. Either I had disabled 3D on the BD player or it is off by default. Once I turned them on, it worked. I set the screen size to 120" in the BD player settings. It was pretty rad seeing the BD menu in 3D. I had to set the edge masking on the projector cuz it was outside the edges of my screen, but it was fine after that.I watched the first 10 minutes or so, and it is really quite good, as far as these things go. At least as good, if not better, than the theater. Some initial thoughts:- They came somewhat charged--if you press the button, it shows green. I charged them all anyways. Took about a couple hours; the book says 2.5hrs.- It is a little annoying that they have to be charged. I am not blaming these particular glasses as I assume it is the nature of the technology, but when you have 8 pairs, it is interesting finding enough USB ports to charge. I had them all over the house at different computers and wall chargers. :) They say it should last 35hrs of watch time, so at least we shouldn't have to do it often.- They don't cover the whole field of vision but have enough to comfortably watch. Actually, it is kind of nice that I can look down and see normally to use, e.g., the remote or walk around without tripping. :)- The nose guards are not super comfy, but they are pretty lightweight, so it's okay.- They sit comfortably in front of my corrective lens glasses, and as far as I can tell, the 3D is effective.- It is nice that they come with wipes and a soft case. I will keep them in the boxes they come in so we can stack them and to keep them undamaged when not in use.As far as I found, these are the best value on the market--a good balance of low cost with effective technology.I'll update here if we find any problems as we use them more.

When in the market for new 3D glasses after seeing up my new Benq W1070 projector, the first thought that came to my head was not wanting to sacrifice quality, but at the same time, wanting to have enough pairs of glasses around that I could entertain my family, guests, or whomever from the neighborhood happened to be popping by and wanted impressed. I didn't want to spend a fortune to do this, however, and as I'd noticed, some companies were charging close to $50 or more PER PAIR for 3D glasses supporting the latest technologies.Enter true depth! For a fantastic price, this brand new 4 pack has arrived and is just what the doctor ordered. For just a little more than the price I was looking at for one pair, I was able to get a 4 pack with all the features and supporting all the latest technologies. So, let's take a look at everything you get. I've attached some unboxing photos as well as some close up shots in the hope you can get an idea of the size and fit of the frames.Included: Inside the box were the glasses, storage bag, cleaning cloth, charging cable, and instructions. The box is sturdy along with foam lining so I knew that they were well cradled in transit.Design: These glasses are very lightweight, probably the lightest pair I have seen. I tried on a pair of the 3dTV glasses that have been very popular, and these are WAY lighter than those. Lens size is slightly smaller compared to the 3dTV set, but not by much. The nose piece is flexible rubber and should adjust to most faces - I think this design will actually make these glasses work for adults as well as kids, rather than having to keep two sizes around. A nice idea. Also, these actually do have the hinged arms where some other budget glasses had the straight arms, making storage difficult. The sensor for this is on the front center just above the nosepiece. Charging port appears just below the noisepiece and the power button is on the top center just above the nose. Very sensible design.Fit: After folder out, the arms still have a nice bend outwards to them so they can fit all style of head, big or small. I've been told I have a big head and these fit me easily, so I imagine they'll fit anyone. I also occasionally wear glasses and am happy to report that these fit perfectly over my regular glasses. Mine are thin though, so if your glasses are very large or thick, something to maybe consider. Comfort level is good, after a few minutes I didn't even feel like I had anything but my regular glasses on.Function: These things sync up FAST! Instantly from pressing the sync button (which doubles as the power button) I was viewing a 3d image. These also have the function to reverse polarity, so a quick click of the power button, and for those of you who experiment with your own 3d movies or downloads, you're all set. No messing with wearing glasses upside down or anything like that. Polarity flip is easy as a push of a button.I also love the fact I can USB charge these up and never have to worry about batteries. The glasses lit up a nice bright red led light as they charged, and that went out when they were full so I knew it was done. Nice. Some glasses, the light never goes off. They took around 3 hours to charge out of the box (though I suspect they arrived with some charge already on them). Haven't had them long enough to tell you how long the charge lasts, but the manual suggests around 20 hours (so 10 movies or so). Not bad at all.I use a very large (125") projection screen, and for me, might have liked a SLIGHTLY larger lens itself, as when viewing on a large screen like this, you have to angle your head just right so the image fills the lenses. Otherwise, a part of the viewing area may not be covered by the lens. Small price to pay and for most people, this will not be an issue. I was sitting very close to a very large screen.Red Block: A lot of the home theater folks like to know how well these block red, the typical color you see more of in a 3d projected signal. I'm happy to report these glasses do a very good job at blocking the red. This was easy to check my removing my glasses after switching on 3d mode. You can clearly see the red on a dark/black image or screen...Putting the glasses on then blocked the lion's share of this. There was still a bit more red than I have seen blocked in expensive pairs of glasses, but then again, I was looking for a set to share with guests and family, who will not even notice the difference.Value: For the price, I don't think this can be beat. You are getting 4 pairs of these with free shipping and I couldn't find a better deal on glasses anywhere else than this. And let's face it, you didn't get 3d to watch it by yourself. Even if you already have a couple pair, this true depth set, with all the features it provides, represents an amazing per-pair-price value. Recommend.
