My old derailleur broke so I bought this and it's amazing! I saw a review saying it wasn't aligned and it will need to be aligned! It is not designed to fit any cassete without being aligned! I would suggest using YouTube because is it easy to do at home, you don't need special tools just a screwdriver and common sense. It's easy to install and use and is really good for biking! May need to be adjusted once in a while but other than that I love it! It is 6-8 speed only! No more! No less! Highly suggested.

The alignment of this derailleur is off such that the idler/tension wheels feed the chain onto the rear cassette (8 speed) a bit sideways. That, in turn, causes the chain to jump off the lower wheel as the chain is coming in “sideways” from the crank. That jams up everything. To wit, the derailleur went into the spokes the other day. Fortunately at the top of the gnarly hill. Because of the mis-alignment, I’d had to run the derailleur close to the spokes to grab the low gear. A rock or big twig knocked the lower wheel just that little bit and we came to a quick, dead stop. Not intentionally I ordered another one. Same problems. Junk.
